Telegram was rated safe, Facebook messenger was rated moderately safe and WhatsApp was ranked unsafe.

I was and am more than happy to have paid a dollar for the top 3 communicatio apps on my phone minus adverts. For something many of us use daily, hours a week... and you think that isn't worth 99cents?

I work in mobile phones, I give my customers those three and not my phone number. If they need help and can't come in, they message me and I help them when I can. I prefer that over calling so that I can respond when I can, since it's usually on personal time.

If anything, you always want someone's phone number. Texting is just a bonus. Whatsapp makes that easier, just exchange phone numbers, not phone numbers and PINs.
