At first glance I thought it was the S6 edge.

They look ALMOST the same, however the previous black variant (http://www.gsmarena.com/new_alleged_mi_5_images_reveal_the_black_variant-news-15976.php) and white variant on this page are 2 different handsets I think. It's not because of the colors but if you'd check clearly, the antenna bands on the previous black photo are on the top and bottom, while on the newer leak they are located on the sides.

As they have crammed a whopping 3600 mah battery, the phone may be a bit thicker compared to today's flagships.the phone with curved edges from both front and back will look much thinner than it would be. So I think the purpose of the curved sides is to have a slimmer looking phone rather than to mimic the Galaxy edge.
Also the screen is not curved. Instead, the bezels are curved because a curved screen will increase the price too high for no major purpose.
And if curved screen of S6 edge is just a design element, I think it is better and cheaper solution.
And even if it looks like S6 edge, I have no problem with this.

The real life pics looks much better than the previous renders. Acceptable bezels, not very thin not very thick too. Other specs are solid hope they price it right and release it in the subcontinent asap
