I spoke to a Samsung person WHO gave me information that the s7 Will have very similar design as the s6, the difference is that only s7 Will be released for now, meaning plus and edge device will be released later on. The s7 will sport 64gb as standard with micro ad slot, it will be water recistant as the s5.
This info is credible.
I'm looking forward to it and hopefully Samsung have developed a better software department. Love to see them step up the game at that front!
I know that megapixel number are most of time for numbers , but Samsung had the best cameraphones at this time even with 16mp was far better than Iphone . I don say that Iphone make bad photo but Samsung does it better . Sony 20 mp is weaker than Iphone 8 mp and some Samsung 13 mp. But still at this time Samsung cameraphones were the best , if they will go to 12 mp in 2016 the company will fall down . I understand to make the same 16 mp barier and increse the quality like S2 and S3 did .
They need to put removeble battery again , every phone at some point will freeze , no matter what specs will have and they solution was to remove the battery and turn on again , but how can we do that if the battery ca t be remove ??
Well, I really really hope that the real/final S7 will be a lot more better than this!!? (except for the 64GB, because that is already bit too much for a standard) but as a holistic specs, it will need more, because otherwise it will be quite easy for LG (G5) & Sony (Z6 Premium) to beat it! !!!!!!

Anonymous, 20 Jan 2016To be honest the 5.1" display version is ridiculous small in nowadays go out and buy the 18" tablet from samsung, if your eyes are so bad that you cant use small screens. 5" should still be max for a phone. max 6" for a phablet. since there are tablets on 7".
but i guess the designers and makers by every brand, think people get more and more blind and even give us better phone screens than our home tv. the eyes sure can see 1080+ clearly. specially on screens below 7".

Bigger pixels will house more light expect some great night shots. HTC got messed up with their post processing so couldn't set up industry standards for ultrapixel camera. I hope that Samsung with their post processing and great back log will hit it out of the ground even this time too.
And let's hope the crazy high MP wars will finally come to end which will game up the camera quality too

We’re going to want a bigger screen because of:
Camera and photos – A larger display won’t improve the pixel quality of your photos but it will definitely improve the composition.
Video-chatting and Face Time are better, since the whole point is to make you feel like you’re actually there.
Games – You can follow the action more easily and the larger screen also means your accuracy will improve, since it’s easier to see where you should be tapping. Also, icons are more spread out, so you’re less likely to hit the wrong button.
Speaking of spreading out, that larger screen means more accuracy with your touchscreen on and offline. Whether it’s the keyboard or closely packed URL options – think Facebook’s Tag Photo, View Full Size, Make Profile Picture – all crammed together, bigger definitely translates to more accuracy.
Movies – If you’ve ever tried to watch a video on your phone, this one is self-explanatory. We don’t go to the movies for the grossly overpriced popcorn; we go for that giant screen.
-Android users have a distinct advantage over iPhone users in one area – split screen display. Users can download an app enabling split screen functionality, allowing you to view two apps at once.
Because there is a 64 GB version, it means the S7 has no memory card...S7 seems more and more like S6, just because they have to make a new phone every year.
Perfectly happy with my S6 Edge now.
"Additionally, the benchmark states that the smartphone does indeed pack a 12MP primary camera, so the move to fewer but larger pixels is happening."
How about same/more but larger pixels?
Redmi Note 3 (16MP) is gonna have more resolution than S7? I know it is not all about Megapixels and S7 camera will be significantly better than Redmi Note 3, but if you are asking for 5x the price, that is not enough.
5.1 too small??? How?? I have had a Droid Razr Maxx HD for over 3 years. It's a 4.7" and that screen size is great. i see no reason to haul around a phone with a screen size much above ~5, 5.1. And besides, seeing people drag their oversized phones out of their pocket or purse.. it just seems oddly irritating.
