depirtt``, 23 Jan 2016very niceSafari browser on iOS comes with a reading mode that removes ads and the size of letters can be increased. Moreover, the background colour can be changed from white to cream, grey or black. It is also possible to change font style. The iOS has also the ability to increase the size of letters in writing fields like when you type a message or increase the size of letters in notification boxes. Finally, it has a magnifying glass that can be easily activated by tapping three fingers twice. So even on that small screen browsing or typing can be as easy as in a big screen phone.

          Here is Apple's plan:

They recognize that there is a strong demand for a 4-inch phone. No doubt that there is - market surveys are crystal clear. However, the 5S is getting old and these people are screaming for an up-to-date 4-incher. Apple's long-run plan is to expand their annual 2-phone release in September to 3 phones. This year we will see iPhone Plus 7, iPhone 7, and the iPhone 7 mini (or whatever they will call it). Of course, it was a mistake to dump the 4-inch phone as they introduce the 6-models, but it's never too late to do the right thing. As for the short-run, an easy way for Apple to keep the 5S users happy is to introduce the 5SE. It's an enhanced version of an old phone - meaning that the production costs are low.

          What do you think?

4 inchers are not good for multimedia and web browzing. So no point in high end hardware. Its a waste of money. If apple is not capable of making a 4.5 or 4.7 inch screen phone in a small footprint as of their old 4S model, they can seek help from any chinese or other brand who are far advanced in making big screen, but compact and slim phones.

Dot-WiFi, 25 Jan 2016they want iphone 5 user and below to upgrade their phone....Actually they'd prefer that user base to move up to the "S" line already. That last 5C experiment was a slap on their collective face having been used to glass + metal chassis there was no way in hell that even an iPhone 4 user would want to switch. This being said, by today's standards the key problem with a 4" phone is about batt life as there's only so much batt capacity that can be crammed in there. By and large this is precisely where bigger phones make a lot more sense.

Sajid ch, 24 Jan 2016Absolutely right....agree with uYou must be carrying a purse or handbag with you, because there's no way a 7" or 8" phone will fit in any normal pocket.

Also, there are limits to everything - crossing the 6" line is crossing the line, IMHO.
