Why new snapdragon 820 only quad core? Is being less the trend now? Even S7 camera have less megapixel. Less cores. I hope it have less bloatware. Less glossy too please.
This benchmark makes me more curious about how the single core performance is going to be on A10 chip.
Of note, the screenshot with the device specs for the snapdragon 820 version has the processor clocked at 1.59ghz, when we know the snapdragon 820 is going to be clocked at 2.2ghz. I believe this chip is clocked lower in the test version for a reason, maybe so it doesn't seem as appealing for black market use?
If Sd820's performance is underwhelming and can not quite catch up with Exynos 8890, that will put Samsung in some sort of dilema.
Throttling the Exynos so as to level the performance of both versions would mean relinquishing top chipset title to, say, Kirin 950.
Going full-fledge Exynos would leave Samsung open to customers' complaint, those from the Sd820 users.
My two cents.
meh id go with sd820 or a9x all day of the week. there are relatively few apps that can exploit multi-threads of octa/deca cores. its only getting harder for devs to pack apps for multi-cores. so multi core benchmarking, as of now, is relatively not-so-important.
if you are conscious benchmark-wise to have a grasp of an soc's raw power in real life, look for single core benchmarks aside from gpu/system/nand/battery ones.
AnonD-234961, 27 Jan 2016Well...the old Galaxy S6 could be a better buy than expected :) This :D
im shocked that the new samsung chip couldnt even match huawei kirin let alone beating it. the year huawei will replace samsung as the best android flagship is here.
Well so let's hope that it will improve a lot lot much more!!!!? Because it's 100% obviously that it doesn't make any sense, that the 2016 best CPU (820) perform less than the 2015's chip. Soooo! ????
And best part of this comparison?
That even old S810 would work the same in everyday, even games would also work the same(If devs would move their b#tts and start optimizing their apps)
And battery or features? Another placebo, lets go back to times of first galaxy S, and typical usage of battery would be the same... I actually still have S3 an S1 and just like modern phones they work good with any apps, and still after one day and half I need to charge them...
But hey! People can bash each other because they have bigger numbers on bechmarks! Its something!
Well...the old Galaxy S6 could be a better buy than expected :)
This is the case of Iphone 6s vs Galaxy s6 where iphone blow up the samy at the single core benchmarks. I think in the total user experience and battery life 820 will be better than the samy processor.
