The overall specs look good, I think it's a good move to decrease the megapixels the camera has to offer, with the M9 I think HTC were simply going for the 'more is better' approach, and it clearly didn't pay off.

4gb ram is nice, I expected HTC to stick at 3gb this gen. and personally, I'd be quite happy with the Boomsound for fingerprint scanner trade off.

I would rather they stick at 1080p for the screen mind (it's only 5.1 inches, 2k is simply not necessary), and we still have to see battery specs.

Also I don't think it's a good idea for HTC to sit back on the launch of this device for too long, the M9 didn't live up to expectations, the A9 is not exactly lighting the mobile world on fire, and as a company HTC are on increasingly thin ice, and are in big need successful 'hero' device sooner rather than later.

HTC are a fantastic phone manufacturer. This is the phone I have been waiting for, after owning an M7, and currently owning an M8. Hopefully the front speakers will still be there, despite the rumour saying it won't, but even if they don't include them, we know HTC will still produce excellent speakers for the phone.

              I can't wait!

there better be a boomsound with 6" screen version of this later this year, or lunched the same time. Or I'll just stick with my ONE MAX.
no boomsound and a smaller screen will most likely feel like a downgrade to me.

Anonymous, 29 Jan 2016UltraPixel camera... No thanks, I've had enough of that on my ex-M8. Never again. Never ever again.Ultra pixel simply refers to much larger pixels. That is a good thing. Htc just messed up by keeping the resolution so low and lacking in refined image processing. In both the ultra pixel and in the 20mp M9. That and removing OIS in the M8/M9.

Ois, higher res. Not bad. Now we just need good exposure and processing

Anonymous, 29 Jan 2016I highly doubt they would just drop such a feature. Of course Samsung dropped removable batteryYes you never know. HTC's sales figures don't look good anyway at the moment. Removing the speakers would be a shot in their own foot. So I hope for them they don't do that move. And also keep their M design and not the iPhone-like A9 design. That was a bit too much like a cheap Chinese iPhone copy.

Imnobody, 29 Jan 2016Your wrong..HTC does many things well other than speakers..their software is one of the best s... moreTheir ui is a tiny bit faster at some things by being excessively limited in comparison.
That does not in any way shape or form automatically equal better.
And 99%of the time in the past few years Samsung devices have gotten faster and more updates.
Only the very last two Samsung flagships lack those couple things.
Samsung and others have to knotch build quality as well. Moot point there.

You might want to lay off the koolaid there

Why will anyone require speakers all the time , unl... moreGood job assuminf that just because you don't care about the speaker means nobody else should. And then further acting as if it's stupid to do so and that automatically if someone is using them means they are doing it in some small public room and being disrespectful or as if to imply that's the only possible scenario to use them.
