The real problem is the lack of app variety. In my opinion Microsoft should attract app developers as fast as possible, even fund them where needed to save their OS.
totally serve u right Microsoft, u deserve that for releasing subpar device. my lumia 640 touchscreen is below average in accuracy and sensitivity, screen scratches easily and always delayed software update, the so called first to receive windows 10 update since May 2015. i really hope Microsoft unable to continue windows phone

People wanna spend their hard earned money for phones, which offer the most. The best hardware, the accessibility to all kind of apps, and so on...For the same price, they can have Android phones with much better specs, and accessibility to many more apps. Why should they buy a Windows phone?!?R.I.P. Microsoft WP.Just like Nokia.Cshurun guzun!!!
Also, the Lumia 950, 950 XL and the 550 weren't even available untill the end of November, early December. So they actually only sold the older Lumia's and the budget 640 and budget phablets like the 640XL.
950XL is just a mid-range Android phone running ported Windows Mobile. Poor build, overheating SoC, average camera, slow storage.
Good. Win10 Metro Crap must end. Its a nuisance for desktop users. May be the end of Lumia phones/Microsoft mobile phones (like what happened with Zune), will make M$ wake up and build proper desktop OS (successor to Win 7).
WPs used to be extremely complicated to use, now they are very simple.
They perform very well for their specs and have a fair price too.
The quality is always decent at least.
Why the apps of course!
They ought to give more incentive to the most popular android and ios games and apps to make a timed Wp appearance.
And of course there is also the backfire effect form the hype of Windows 10 update, which was really nothing, considering the apps would still be absent, but they have invested enough to promote it as the next best thing that's coming soon, yet they keep postpone it forever...
I really like the new lumia 950. Specially with the Mozo covers. It's real nice. I haven't experienced any problems as such.
But I do have a surface pro3 and I would love a surface phone to complete my package
For me the actually reason it drop because of slow updates, with updates user can try out even more beta offering by Microsoft it self. For example, the flow keyboard should've been a feature of windows phone, but why Microsoft doesn't release its beta like the ios one for WP users?? This actually makes user feels Lumia has no offerings in features. Think logically, why user buy windows phone while its features is on the ios and android? What makes their phone stand out?? Is nothing actually. The price you pay for a Lumia 5xx series is the price you can actually get even better specs on android. Windows always says that they have no issue in providing updates for users like android couldn't. But think wise, how many times you get an update?? How long is the update required?? Lol.. try compare WP os with ios? Sees who get more relevant updates in a year. I really disappointed on my second Lumia (535) due to problems couldn't be resolve.
Not likely...only good thing about new Lumia flagships is the camera, and that ruined by OS full of errors...
It ll take them 4 year quarters just to polish it out...
Microsoft have undone themselves
i'm convinced that microsoft's plan is to make us alone more than before!
not paying attention to design
using out dated hardwares
not making WP 10 complete
no huge plan to encourage developers to make apps for WP
too much time it takes to offer new phones
The problem with WP is that there is still app gap and not only when it comes to some exotic apps!
Say, one of the most popular fitness bands MiBand has no native app for WP! 3rd party app is pretty limited.
Another one - Nikon Wireless Mobile Utility is available only for iOS and Android, not for WP and not planned either. No 3rd party apps here.
Love my WP, but will be switching to Android(or new 4" iPhone if price permits) due to these apps lacking.
Im not the only one, just look at share numbers of MiBand sale figures!

The money and sales are through low and mid range devices, which the average people buy. Flagships sale are tiny in comparison.
Obviously people buy phones when they look at the flagship ms didnt made sh*t the last whole year and window 10 Still not in old lumias why would anyone buy third class low range phones. And your new lumias are ugly.
Sky Is The Limit , 29 Jan 2016R.I.P Lumia. Never forget Nokia Pureview 41MP #NeverForgetNever forget the original Nokia 808 Pureview which was better by every photo-quality metric than the Lumia version.
WP sucks! I can install the HERE app on sd-card but not the big/gigantic maps! There is no adblocker in any browser, and very few of the apps I NEED every day exist and those that do exist are almost never updated for years! My Lumia 640 was my worst but ever, even though it was not expensive!
I have been using Windows phone for a while, and one of the most nagging issues was the sheer pace of the OS development. Sure, Windows Insider gave you early access to the latest offering but if you are someone who doesn't like to go in for this sort thing, the wait was obviously long to get the final stable build. The app market was ( and still is ) not growing at the rate it should be ( if they really want to catch up with the competition ). The UI is something of a 60/40 as its really fluid, but the early build have quite a few bugs which cause the phone to just freeze as is. Lastly, Microsoft was obviously late to the mobile OS race, but instead of going full on aggressive with theyr global offerings and marketing , they did the complete opposite.
