[deleted post]Lol my n900 has the same hardware and more then the iphones all combined
Sucked getting lied to doesn't it lol
It's cheap plastic as well as the iphone lol
Maybe you should check for cracks
It tends to do that if it gets too hot
[deleted post]I'm not an iphone hater,I have used iphone for 1st generation and 3g for more than 3 years and switched to the nokia e71 which had more than 100 features that the iphone never had and i even doubt if they are present in their new os,recently i switched to nokia n900 and grouping it in the same category of smartphones with the iphone well that would be a joke,n900 makes the iphone look like a 10 yearold kid's toy. I'm a proud nokia n900 user and its waaaaay better than itoy.I'm not using iphone because i'm not a cow.
PS> I owned an iPhone 3G.. so don't start with the "you're poor and can't afford it".. if you think you need to be rich to have an iPhone, you're the poor ones :))
Oh, how I love all the hipe around some features that are sooo basic and comon.. get over it, dudes.. I didn't get the iPhone thing from the start.. and still don't get it. The UI is nice and responsive and you get alot of apps.. except that, the hardware just sucks!
Anonymous, 05 May 2010Only the 3GS will be getting the 4.0 update? No way, all iPods and iPhones will get iPhoneOS 4 this summer, but only 3GS and 32/64gb iPod touch 3rd Gens will support multitasking without JB LoL :P
iPads will get iPhone OS 4 at fall with full specs.
It's funny how Apple fans always think that if you don't like the iPhone product you are either poor or have never used a iPhone.
Back in august i won a unlocked iPhone 3GS on a call in morning radio show (actually i was going for the PS3 prize for my lttile brother), but anyhow i won that phone.
I hade it for 2 weeks, felt like strangeling iTunes to death (most irritating software ever), not only the synch box issues, but the whole deauthorisation nonsense if you use another PC or have to reinstall software/OS and the whole cleaning your iPhone clean of all content etc. Don't know if they have changed it thou.
More issues were battery dying i record time when making phone calls or if you have brightness turned up. As soon an started filling up the memory with stuff it became slower and slower between menus, to the point of 3-5 sec whitescreens.
Then on to the movie clips, forget DivX/Xvid/Avi, it took virtyally no video codecs whatsoever. I hade to dig up this french program called Handbrake to convert videos to low resolutions H264 container/mp4 and played them very badly with massive defragmentation and artifacting.
When i tried webbrowsing and wathing videos/news/sports online most videos online was black screen die to the fact that 90% of intervet is flashbased. I can'r be bothered being on youtube all the time to wath videos, i have other things in life i need to live-update and watch.
Now on to the screen auto-rotate issues. One in iPhones iPod player the screen will rotate to the album flow version if it tilts in your hand or pocket, all good if you want it that way, but it gets stuck and won't tilt back very easily, most of the time you get frustrated trying to tilt it back to normal play/pause/skip menu that you have to exit iPod app and restart it so get back to.
I had loads of isses etc etc but i won't write about it here, it will take up a whole page. I gave the iPhone to my little sister and everything on that phone is done by me like i think i have written before, from hunting for apps at Appstore, Ice, Cydia and A--llo(which is closed down now), j-breaking, updating etc etc.
So don't give me that nonsense about not ever have used a iPhone, i did and i am not impressed at all.
With that said i wasn't inpressed with Nokia flagship N97 either which i had an sold. Symbian is far from ready for touchscreen, and N97 proved it. N97 has so many issues i don't know where to start, horrible phone.
They gave me a Nokia N900 from work and it's probably the piece of handheld fluent technology i have ever used. It eats everything you throw at it. N900 is as close as you get to a laptop without being a actual laptop. How the same company can make both N97 and N900 is a mystery. N900 is a technological piece of art and N97 is a crippled lunatic, seriously, iPhone is better than N97.
And now to the issue of Apple fans thinking that people who don't like iPhone are poor people who can't afford one. Are you saying 98% of Europe are poor? There are more poverty and ghettos in US then there will ever be in Europe.
I live in Sweden with one of the highest standards of living in the world with virtually no poverty (maybe the drugabusers) and only middleclass upwards and we are certainly not poor. I can buy 3 iPhones a month if really really really wanted to, but bottom line is i don't like iPhone cause i think it a overrated mediocre piece of iTap tehcnology (except for the OS speed) and i wouldn't use one even if some walked up an gave it to me, same goes for Nokia N97.
[deleted post]We all know why it sells so well .... Good marketing and greed
Except iPods all the products from Apple is nothing more than a crap. All the iPhones,iPads,Macs should go to the junkyard directly from the factories where they are made.
And my opinion has NOTHING to do with the price, it is however, an inevitable downfall for the device.
No snap dragon, dated camera, ball and chained to iTunes, locked into an unreasonable service agreement, insurance that doesn't cover against theft, water damage, or damage. A carrier that charges AND caps their tethering, having to flip flop from AT&T and Apple to troubleshoot your device, a collapsing network, did I miss anything?
Not surprising coming from a guy that "doesn't think flash is meant for mobie technology" and "Task killing is not necessary", learn from your mistakes Steve, I sold my 3gS, gave the iPad a shot, and sold my iPod a LONG time ago.
In their defense, the iPod touch is a fine piece of hardware.
[deleted post]Ohh yeah, you´re totally right. We can´t affor the SuperMegaBest iphone. We have money only for the cheapest phones of that "stupid" company... NOKIA.I am the owner of a nokia e90 (3 years ago it was selling with 700 euros), a nokia e61i (I bought it with 450 euros) and I own also an e71 (2 years ago I bought it with 400 euros). But, my friend... you have to be shure that I will never have money to buy an iphone...
[deleted post]3g 8gb/99$ 3year
3gS 16gb/199$ 3year
3gS 32gb/299$ 3year
The problem is apple there communists
They like to tell people what to do
So they have their own plans seperate from the other smartphones
75 - 120$CAD
Plus all the other hidden fees
And it's not expandable so you'll have to buy a new phone just to get extra storage
David, 05 May 2010And guys, please take it easy on Apple fans, it's not their fault. This is all new to them. No... moreNo no no,we will continuously remind them of the foolish mistake they made by getting glorified, hyped out, closed enviroment device with lack of features
Until then when they get a smartphone or phone ingeneral with modern upto date features
We'll keep jamming it in their faces
Yes friends, go easy or Apple will come into your rooms, slaming doors down, making you go on tv and say sorry for making iPhone look bad. Even worst they will make you say I LOVE Apple, I love my iPhone and I love my iPad, I even love my iHop whatever that is.
And guys, please take it easy on Apple fans, it's not their fault. This is all new to them. No need to haggle and argue. Leave them alone. Let them take their time to admire this strange new breakthrough technology. iPhone is actually becoming a "smartphone", steady but slowly. Good for you.
File (pdf, mail, text, office) drag&drop added in 2010. Even if they annoyingly have to be synched with iTunes.. LOL! Well it's better than nothing. Iphone enters year 1998 A.D but with iTunes restrictions. Congratulations on big your innovation breaktrough, like the writer said, it's about time.
My old Nokia permitted file transfers
My prehistoric Nokia 7650 and Nokia 6600 were multitasking
What's up with their innovative iPhone OS 4?
iPhone OS is crap sold! :o(
You never know, next time they may consider adding something really, REALLY basic and obvious like bluetooth file transfer to non-apple devices.
It upsets me that there is so much hype (and money) flying around over devices which couldn't even exploit MMS until relatively recently.
As for muli-tasking, my NK7650 could handle that!
