my note 4 would last between 7-8 hours of video playback with all radio functions switched off. If the S7 manages too do better then it could exceed that number by 3 hours the most because of it's smaller displayx and efficient processor.

John, 30 Jan 2016Anyway, Samsung needs to make versions of the S7 with replaceable battery and a micro SD port ... moreSamsung put waterproofing on S7 so removable battery is no longer needed. You have seen the S5 kinda fail in waterproofing if the back case not properly in place and the port not properly closed. They following Sony footstep.

Bob, 30 Jan 2016Seventeen hours of video playback at max brightness is not among the best it is THE BEST in it... moreNothing biased here from what I can see - although it may be the best for this particular specification, we don't know if it will be matched elsewhere. So may be other phones that will compete overall, ergo the S7 would be among the best in it's class.

Anyway, Samsung needs to make versions of the S7 with replaceable battery and a micro SD port if they want heavy users to buy it.

Possibly 300 nits in auto modeGoing forward, GSMA won't be testing the battery using 50% brightness, or more accurately, setting the brightness slider halfway, rather they will test at 200 nits, read the Xiaomi Redmi 3 review.

Well it's not that impossible. The S6 Active achieved 18 hours (albeit at lower screen brightness) of video playback. Hope to see crazy good battery life in the S7.
