AnonD-248589, 03 Feb 2016It is the same chipset just overclocked.Ok, you are referring to Intel chipset being overclocked without much improvement. But I was referring to chipsets made by competitors (SD 617, SD 650, SD 652 etc).
And anyways I'm not big fan of Asus and even if there are few, with this pricing strategy of asking almost 1.5 times in the subcontinent is sure gonna lower the brand following
AnonD-472910, 02 Feb 2016yeah lets sell a periscope technology, rare optical zoom lens for 200 to 250 with hand crafted... moreI am not saying $400 is bad pricing.. What i mean to say is, it sells for fuc*ing $560 in India.. Thats what pisses me off
What the heck.. $399 in the US and $560 in India.. How the hell that can be justified

rusty, 02 Feb 2016so what has changed since last year?Chipsets which power the phones and the amount of increased raw power they deliver while still consuming less battery power - This has definitely changed for better in the last 1 year. If you were expecting anything along the lines of camera technology in mobiles, probably not much has changed.
Don't do it.
Currently use a memefone 2, and the latest update left myself and a lot of other people with vertical bars down half the screen that cannot be fixed. Be prepared to pay for their mistakes by shipping/getting charged 300 bucks etc.
rusty, 02 Feb 2016so what has changed since last year?Competition happened. Of course, no one is offering compact 3x zoom but they're offering good enough camera with better chipset, better battery life (as far as I know, Asus still struggling with battery drain on Zenfone 2 using the same Intel SoC), shatterproof display (Moto), similar or the same amount of RAM, the same or more internal storage... and camera phone without raw support?!
When Zenfone Zoom was announcement more than year ago, it was the beast. Now is just average phone (with potentially problematic Intel SoC) with optical zoom. Optical zoom is still unique on the market but must be proved in the practice.
After all, most important for me is loosing trust in Asus. Way too long delay without an explanation.
im waiting for gsmarena review before buying this phone.
AnonD-472910, 02 Feb 2016yeah lets sell a periscope technology, rare optical zoom lens for 200 to 250 with hand crafted... moreYeah. Because leather is so useful in phone.
Subzz, 02 Feb 2016$400 for this phone? Asus might be kidding now..yeah lets sell a periscope technology, rare optical zoom lens for 200 to 250 with hand crafted leather and leather stiching
Over priced
John, 02 Feb 2016Well for "thinnest phone with 3x optical zoom" is not that much but still way too late on the ... moreso what has changed since last year?
AnonD-418211, 02 Feb 2016$399 in U.S & $560 in India this is Unfair :(same case in Malaysia soo expensive :(
$399 in U.S & $560 in India this is Unfair :(
I just received this phone and I'm loving it so far. Probably cuz my previous phone was the Lumia 1020 and I was getting frustrated with Windows 10 phone.
Well for "thinnest phone with 3x optical zoom" is not that much but still way too late on the market. If is released more than year ago, when is announced, I would be the first to order. Now, not anymore. Especially from only one exclusive reseller from another site of the continent.
Sad Asus reduced to selling cheap phones.
So long padfone.
This phone is already over a year late and they're charging 399 dollars for it? Asus are out of their minds
$400 for this phone? Asus might be kidding now..
