Most of the people are saying that why SE is not in this list. How can they be...? They have launched just one handset(X10) and nothing else. a device which runs on android 1.6 with no multi touch and no HD video rec. It will get Android 2.1 update and 720p HD video rec in Q4 when their will be android 2.2 froyo and 1080p HD rec devices from other manufacturars. Now who will purchase a device like that when there are HTC Desire, Nexus one and glaxey s available. and what about upcoming HTC Evo 4G ( a monster). Why should not people save their money for this beast.
As far as smartphone market share is concerned, the real competition will start from the second half of the year when some impressive stuff will come from nokia, LG and Samsung.

They have just gone back to profitability and am sure they will keep on improving, although it will be tough due to the great competition in the mobile market atm. They have the x10 mini and mini pro coming out soon which should help them with sales etc.

For all of you who doesn't know the definition of a smartphone :

The true smartphone IMO is winMo,don't get me wrong for acknowledge winMo as a smartphone,i hate winMo just like symbian,the reason for my choice is winMo is the real convergence of a PC,along with its lag and long booting.
So yes even nokia 5230 is a smartphone cause it has symbian and multitasking along with lag and freezing,in fact all nokia phones except those using s40 should be considered smartphones.
iPhone is a smartphone in its own way,if you ever see it using a benchmark then you'll see it is a smartphone,the difference is that iPhone users are limited in tweaking their device even in the most common ways for other smartphone users,those with a jailbroken one will have no problems in tweaking and modify their iPhone cause without Apple's restrictions ( never truly understand why Apple locked away those cool features out of the box ) iPhone's modification and feature is a scary and unimaginable one,google it an dyou'll know what i'm saying.
