I remember the Sony Ericsoon W810. My first phone. It was the best Sony Ericsson that I had and by the end of this year my model is turning 10 years old. Still have it and it works like a boss.
Anonymous, 14 Feb 2016the world was better 10 years ago!! people were talking to each other Also we were sending the same pictures and songs via infrared and Bluetooth!
Basically we knew that everyone in our neighborhood had the same stuff in their phone and as soon as someone had a new song or picture he sent it to everyone else!!
Ahh, the nostalgia is strong :D
Oh, and we had the decade long Nokia vs (Sony) Ericsson debate!!
k610i was a great phone! I used for a few years after it started to fell apart. Never bought any Sony-related phones after that, but that was a good one.
At that time I was rocking my Sony Ericsson W550 with 3 speakers and everything else a 14 year old ever wanted :)
Thanks for this trip down the memory lane guys!
.......after some nokia phones like n70,n72,n73 n82 then came to android with samsung .... S2,S3,S4 and S5. S6 came without a SD card is a big down for me so change to other phones. I have a xiaomi note now but if S7 has SD card i will be first in line to order one......
I was a huge fan of the LG Viewty Renoir Arena and Viewty Smart hehe
Carol, 14 Feb 2016Name me something Samsung has innovated?! And i tell you a lot of things Nokia has done during... moreSamsung also has been innovative in terms of multimedia, cameras, chipsets, memory, displays, connectivity etc, etc, etc. Who are you for talking of the defects or qualities of Samsung? You guess that Samsung hasn't been sufficiently innovative? You are very wrong and mistaken about what is innovation and technological progress. Samsung in terms of technology hasn't been inferior to Nokia and Apple. Try to understand the progresses that Samsung has made and given to the mobile technologies.
AnonD-498043, 14 Feb 2016Processor architectures other than ARM, Doubling battery capacity using Graphene, Britecell ca... morewow.... that was really a mouth full but yeah ....true..... that's not the way you talk to a women though... she must have tears in her eyes now....
my first phone was sony J70.... such a nice phone with a special kind of ring tones and a rotating jog key.... i can listen to those ring tunes to my mind now....... i really loved that phone... never saw those in the market later...........
Carol, 14 Feb 2016Name me something Samsung has innovated?! And i tell you a lot of things Nokia has done during... moreProcessor architectures other than ARM, Doubling battery capacity using Graphene, Britecell camera with aperture less than 2.0, 1.7 on S7, LTE Technology, OIS, Magnetic secure transmission so that Samsung pay works everywhere you use a card swipe, "SUPER" Amoled technology to decrease thickness, Fast Charge, Wireless FC, DDR4 Ram, Manual Camera Exposure, Magnesium Chassis, Retina Display, A7, A8 processors(partly), the NOTE series, Gear and Multi window which Apple took up, the VR which Apple is going to take up, Military Certified phones such as actives, stereo mics, Hear rate monitor, Infrared technology on a mass scale, NFC technology, Air View using self capacitance, LCD Displays, LED displays, Curved Display, Curved Glass back are just to name a few. This is just their Mobile division I am talking about. They have a huge electronics division (SUHD TVs, telecommunication equipment for your carriers and what not), Military Division that makes tanks and missiles, Construction division which built projects like Burj Khalifa, Heavy Industries that build ships and vessels and so on, Semi Conductor division that mass produces 14nm and soon latest smallest 10nm chips. There you go :)
Those days... Phones from those days used to have a character with various design elements. Modern phones are plain boring as hell and there's nothing much to excite about in them.
No othr phne has that much old.
Nw tell me which is that cmpany ?
I luv .....
Nostalgic.... Samsung was NOTHING in mobile phone world back those day :P. Always loved those Nokia & Sony Ericsson phones... Still miss Sony Ericsson, liked them much more than present Sony.
AnonD-130610, 14 Feb 2016Samsung innovated passed these years instead of Nokia that decayed in last 5 years. You can be... moreName me something Samsung has innovated?! And i tell you a lot of things Nokia has done during the downfall;). That changed a lot of things about the new era of smartphones;). From camera to connectivity to formfactor multimedia and materials. The only interesting thing Samsung has made was the zoom that was just interesting but a verry ugly piece of s"**. But, at least was interesting to see a mobile phone in a camera.
As always apple ruined the mobile phone market,,all we have had is boring, monotonous, miserable slabs ever since. Absolutely not reason why other form factors cannot be done. I hope Nokia return and bring their quirky designs with them.
