I've had my iPad Air for about 2 years now and its still gong strong..Fast, light, gets the job done, i dont see a reason to upgrade just yet..I only really use it when vegging on the couch playing games or when traveling abroad, i luv it dearly..
Because they are sellin SAME TABLET since 2010 with processor changes only.
Tablet still relevant only that nobody want to change it every year. Drop in sales is expected.
Phablets are just eating away into the tablet market. Even smartphones with 5"+ screens are taking away from that market.
Tablets are useless for someone owning a phablet(especially note 4, 5)
In my opinion, if you already boast a solid smartphone then why would you buy a tablet? Smartphones are becoming very advanced and powerful, and tablets (especially iPads) are just enlarged phones, they don't have so many distinguishable features. Sure, they are a joy to hold for reading or playing AAA game titles since they take advantage of the large screen, but still, a tablet is only a complement and definitely not a replacement product rather than a must have gadget. And one more thing, with the emergence of hybrid laptops, i don't think people would opt for a tablet anymore.
reduce the price, then raise up sales!Apple earn too manyla.... profit margin very high!
Bigben, 17 Feb 2016The Ipad 3 is still as sufficient as the latest Ipad, thats why :-)even iPad 2 on iOS 8.4 is really good.
iPad line died the day Steve jobs retired.
iPad was solely Jobs idea and apple dont have a visionary like him to do innovation.
Now 6 inch phablets have become very good so no need of carrying a separate tablet.
AnonD-308243, 17 Feb 2016now that approach is marking a whole market segment irrelevent. microsoft is attempting to bre... moreAgree completely with you. Android OEMs are not making good tablets, to top it - They overprice it for what they offer. Worser still - they don't make them available in all regions, with a right price tag.
If the tablets were equipped with more capable hardware and OS, then we could use them productively rather than as a consumption device. I think Microsoft is trying to fill that with the Surface line. Apple could easily do that by replacing IOS with OSX. Unfortunately for android tablets cannot get in without proper desktop capable software. Even software available for chrome OS are for consumption and cloud based.
Stingger, 17 Feb 2016That is a solid point but on paper only. If that was true then why are mobile phones still ris... moreBecause people take their phones everywhere and this makes them more likely to break.
I personally don't care how good or bad a product is doing, sales-wise. As long it meets my expectations, I'm happy. It's not like the money is going to my pocket anyway.
Bigben, 17 Feb 2016The Ipad 3 is still as sufficient as the latest Ipad, thats why :-)That is a solid point but on paper only. If that was true then why are mobile phones still rising? 2014 mobile vs 2016 mobile is just slight performance difference. Oh and huge ram difference which is pretty much useless for most users.
Good but overpriced product
Dovice, 17 Feb 2016Am calling it now. The iPad has always and still is a very slick and cleverly marketed laptop ... moreMacPad.... Ooooh I could live with that :)
Its expected. After 2-4 years, tablet ll be out of market.
Anonymous, 17 Feb 2016because they want to stick mid range/last years phone hardware in a bigger case probably.now that approach is marking a whole market segment irrelevent. microsoft is attempting to breathe new ideas into the tab market but the OEMs who addopt android as thier OS seem to be guilty of degrading the tablet side of mobile computing expecialy samsung thier tabs are a poor representation of what is expected in a profesional grade device.
