Chuck Norris, 23 Feb 2016Outrank 1st the sony Z5 in DXO mark and then i will acknowledge your iphone, samsung, etc phon... moreDid you evwn read the whole fiasco thing about Dxo? They have to go through a whole process of adjusting the camera to take just the right picture. This takes down the ease of use like crazy. The whole point of smartphone cameras is to take a reasonably good picture on a whim, which is why many people complained about sony phone cameras.
AnonD-110191, 23 Feb 2016Thats so true, but here is the sad part. Sony dont even make full use of their own tech like t... moreAgreed though...
Sony got the best sensor but still need lots of improvement in software (edge blur, over processing etc.)
but seem like the X line up has gotten better.
Player 1, 23 Feb 2016You are a funny guy!Can you grab a dictionary and read it before posting that comment? lol
aceofgenerations, 23 Feb 2016Yea, of course changing the name doesn't make it innovative...what are you on? The idea behind... moreread the article apple changed the name, just to make it PROPRIORTTR, you know , the mugs sucker punch....lighning thunder retina etc etc etc..rubbish.
Wheres all the threads mocking that.
aceofgenerations, 22 Feb 2016This is real innovation. Not to mention the S5 was the first to have hybrid auto focus (the S6... moreYou should look into Sony mobile development. They have have had this before Samsung and HTC was the first to use a big sensor with a lower MP count, m7. IPhone still delivers an overall pleasant experience(PIC n video).
just wondering if you guys are explaining what Android phones (specially Samsung) are coming up with or you are simply promoting for them and giving the edge over other parties (windows, ois and bb)??!!!
AnonD-506139, 22 Feb 2016ok? they're talking about the S6 and 7 though.I was replying to somebody else, who was trying to claim that the Galaxy S5 has a better camera than the iPhone 6s. As in a "even the GALAXY S5 beats the iPhone 6s so it's not like it's competition for the Galaxy S6/S7" kind of tone.
Hookar, 22 Feb 2016Why are you such a big noob? I mean seriously... WHY?You're welcome to explain yourself rather than vaguely attempting to insult me. Until then, I will freely and gladly utilize my human ability to ignore your childish comment. Have a good day, sir.
Bailey, 22 Feb 2016didnt you mean the S6 as comparing the 2 year old camera in the S5 to the iPhone 6s cant be co... moreI was replying to a comment trying to claim the Galaxy S5 has a better camera than the iPhone 6s, which I believe (in my personal experience) is just dead wrong. The Galaxy S5's camera isn't all that great. The Galaxy S6 has a great camera but I still don't think it's the best. That reward goes to both the Lumia 950/950 Xl and the LG V10.
AnonD-465189, 22 Feb 2016Not sure what you mean there... the Nexus 6P and 5X use a sensor that is BIGGER than Samsung's... moreAlready admitted I was wrong with that point, but my overall opinion remains the same. I believe these phone's cameras will be very good.
AnonD-352484, 22 Feb 2016Why are ppl so bad in reading specsheets... The sensor is SMALLER than the one in the nexus li... moreMy mistake, so I was wrong. But I still think we'll see an improvement over what the new Nexus phones did, which proved that bigger pixels can work.
Kettzy, 23 Feb 2016By that sense, every iPhone is manufactured by Foxconn, Processors and memory chips provided b... moreTrue. Just small difference - Samsung uses maybe 20% of the outsourced parts. They are technologically capable to produce better sensor than Sony (and did so in the past e.g. S5 with ISOCELL sensor which was by far superior at the date), however Sony can mass produce the sensors on lower cost and if difference is not big enough for Samsung to use their own sensor they use Sony's one. Quite a different approach fro the apple though - Samsung usually takes the best available sensor and further enhances hardware, apple however takes the most mid-range cheap sensor and optimises it with software. The end result - on the phone screens the pictures looks comparable, but when you open them up on large PC screen they are nothing alike - Samsung is clear winner.
AnonD-352484, 22 Feb 2016There'll be a couple of cheap sd820 Chinese phones with mediocre cameras..let's hope so. But mostly Chinese has bloatware and locked bootloader phones or with worst custom Roms also not as durable as top brands. And even they will not be available in my country.
AnonD-246723, 23 Feb 2016change the name of phase detection doesnt make it innovative -.-Yea, of course changing the name doesn't make it innovative...what are you on? The idea behind it is innovative.
Anonymous, 22 Feb 2016Lol.. but Sony itself cannot use them on their own phones properly.. lol...Before you look stupid read up on why. It has nothing to do with the sensor, its mainly due to the thin lens they use. When it comes to sensors, sony is the best in the world at making them, also look at their cameras, they are the best!
