Dead Words, 22 Feb 2016The Galaxy S5 camera is only decent. The iPhone 6s is much faster and far more consistent. My ... moreLol I'm using Samsung galaxy ace 2 and I see no problems with my camera lol. S5 camera would be OP for me lol. I miss phones having decent cameras + 4gb ram + super amoled 1080p + sd820 - these phones would sell like hot cookies. Would be enough to have s5 camera. Don't want to pay for camera when I barely use it. Sony x performance seems promising... but that too good camera tho adds extra 100 euros... that's a waste for me :/ sad. But Sony x performance seems to be the fastest phone yet.

sa11oum, 22 Feb 2016It didn't, but neither did the S6 family 'beat' the iPhone 6s Plus camera. They're both on par... moreActually, every test shows that the camera for the S6 is above the camera on Iphone 6... saddly I'm at work now and for PCI agreements we have a very limited access to the internet to avoid information leaks, but I will try to add the sources later.

Truthfully Samsung should had put this technology on a 16 megapixel sensor instead cause people would be able crop they're shots if they made a common camera mistake.

Dead Words, 22 Feb 2016The Galaxy S5 camera is only decent. The iPhone 6s is much faster and far more consistent. My ... moredidnt you mean the S6 as comparing the 2 year old camera in the S5 to the iPhone 6s cant be correct and if so i believe is been well written about that the S6 was considered one of the best phone cameras of last year.

This doesn't make sense to me.

Imaging sensor company Samsung uses Imaging sensors from imaging sensor company Sony, witch in turn uses Imaging sensor technology developed and patented by Imaging sensor company Canon

Dead Words, 22 Feb 2016The Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X show that this set up can work very well. Samsung just took it to a ... moreNot sure what you mean there... the Nexus 6P and 5X use a sensor that is BIGGER than Samsung's new sensor. But the Nexus camera's don't use phase detection, and certainly don't have every pixel set up for phase detection (I've not heard of doing that before). The Nexus cameras do VERY well at capturing a good image in low-light situations, but I would expect the S7 to do very well at focussing in low-light situations and almost as well at capturing the image.

Anonymous, 22 Feb 2016You should stop relying on your phone, and buy a nice cameraActually, as a sony alpha 7 ii owner I have to say that often in automatic modus, that means if you see something and just want to capture it and you don't have time for any modifications, the smartphones manage to give better results than a full frame camera with a good lens. Of course that's all because of the incredible ISO performance and software of a smartphone but still, a phones camera is important to me because it is not that bad compared to a "real" camera in some scenarios

Anonymous, 22 Feb 2016You should stop relying on your phone, and buy a nice cameraYou can't always have a full camera with you. It's big, not practical to walk with. Camera quality is the first thing i consider when looking for a phone. Smartphone cameras are very useful when you want to capture something quick and I love that they get new good features like this, because you aren't always in the perfect situation with perfect lighting.

Almand, 22 Feb 2016If so why did Samsung decide to use a sony sensor on this s7?!Haha, true. I guess people only read the headlines.

The great thing is since this is Sony's tech, expect to see the same advances across other brands, which is great.
