Regarding region lock... Does this mean if I buy and use (local sim) an S7 in asia then travel to europe using euro sim it will fail ?
Does that mean that I can't sell my phone to another person using another carrier?? Isn't that what Apple does?
AnonD-308243, 25 Feb 2016the editor makes this whole thing even more cryptic, does this mean the s7 will only be locked... moreIt just means that the phone isn't locked until they inset their simcard..
So you buy the phone and it's an vodafone one, instead of vodafone having to but EG : 1000 phones locked to vodafone, they buy 1000 phones, when they inset a vodafone sim card, it's then locked to that network.
It's good for multi network shops, they don't need to buy 100 vodafone, 100 O2, 100 EE, they just buy 300 phones and when each one is set up it locks to that network.

The article clearly states that this saves carriers time from order batches or setting up each phone one by one. Instead when the sim card is inserted the phone is locked.
