A quick charge feature is useless to me since I can't use a charger while working. You're right about using a battery pack, but battery packs are cumbersome and bulky. Much easier to pop in a fully charged battery. Takes seconds. Then whenever I get home, I charge my phone and spare battery. I'm still using an S5 because that is a good device and the last higher end device Samsung made that has a removable battery and is water resistant.
It's funny to me that people are still complaining about the battery not being removable in Samsung devices. In an age were we can charge our phones anywhere using an external battery pack it's really an unnecessary feature especially if they are giving us a bigger battery to begin with. I pick Samsung over LG.
I think LG G5 going back to 5.2" from 5.5" was a good choice. I always felt that the 5.5" and 5.7" were a tad too big for my trouser pocket comfort. And it was always just a bit too big for one hand operation.
The detachable battery is also very welcome. I always change to a new battery after about one year, and that gives me full day battery time again for another year. I had a bad experience with iPhone with battery lasting only few hours after 2 years, and it cost me a fortune to get the battery changed.
Job well done, LG.
I went with the s7 edge. If the g5 didn't go down in size I would of got that. But I won't go lower then 5.5 inch screen
LG G5 will have a lot of gear like extended grip+battery for camera (camera+battery enchantment),stand alone almost double capacity battery (original),but i think there will be non-original batteries with 9000mAh to buy at any corner.
TechSrb, 02 Mar 2016Honestly i love Samsung devices cuz that sAmoled/Amoled displays...they are just wonderful,but... moreMy mistake on LG G2 batter is NON-REMOVABLE...but i have mixed my old G2 with my damn G3 :) wrong number.
I'm in love with the LG G5! This is what I was dreaming from a flagship mobile! I will get it as soon as it will be released!
Honestly i love Samsung devices cuz that sAmoled/Amoled displays...they are just wonderful, but in other hand LG is more firm device in hand in my opinion (no sqeaqy noises from plastic/alluminium).SG-S 7 have 3600mAh NON-REMOVABLE battery and that is huge mistake, because swapping battery is very usefull with another one full asap-when you dont have anywhere to plug in phone to charge him, like in city walk-forest picnic or beach.LG G5 have 2800mAH REMOVABLE battery and that is biggest advantage ever...because those extra 800mAh wont make any huge difference, because TouchWiz UI sucks out Ram memory and Ram sucks out battery ...so non removable battery is huge fail.Anyway if i ever would want to have have some cr4p with Non-Removable battery i would buy "iMstupid phone 567",cuz i love freedom of customisation and pulling out maximum from my device il stick to true Android devices like this new LG G5 or my G2 and SG-S 5 with removable batteries. Both devices are great but still my new phone will be 99.99% LG G5 only becase of removable battery, cuz i dont want to carry cables like some maniac and all that stuff for external battery charger(Only things i love to feel in my pocket is a phone and cash/card and maybe 1 slim battery :)). Peace
LG G5 will be my next mobile phone!
I can't wait until I will purchase it!
Latin America, and possibly other markets, will get only the midrange Snapdragon 652 + only 3GB RAM variant of the LG G5, no VR 360 headset.
What a Cheap Cheat from LG. No change of the G5 model number. You Never know what you'll get !
...No alternative except to wait for another year till LG G6 comes out. At present... forced to continue with my old horse LG G3 because cannot upgrade to LG G5 because of battery capacity of G5. Hopefully LG will listen to their fans and increase the battery capacity alongwith, keeping the screen size at 5.3 inches.
RandomGuy, 28 Feb 2016Bruh, S6 Edge is already out. Youcan get your hands on one in fact its pretty cheap now..I meant S7 edge :D
AnonD-376965, 01 Mar 2016mate.. i don`t care internal battery cose i know at the end of the day will be off.. the only... moreWith the high battery of the s7 edge, even if you do forget to charge, you could squeeze a second day out of it if you need to. On my s5 yesterday I forgot to charge it overnight, put it on charge in the morning and got it up to 70%. Was out from 9am-9pm and still had 30%, and within that time I used it a fair amount too, but I did have power saving mode on.
When it comes to using your phone with one hand the only reason you think it's difficult is because you don't know how to zoom. Have you ever bothered learning how? And you're seriously going to buy some gimmicky camera module instead? And as I said, it makes the phone more than twice as thick. So it won't be fitting into your pocket and it'll be uncomfortable and difficult to use with one hand (you claim you don't use it with one hand, but at the same time claim you use the camera with one hand). Just imagine holding your phone in landscape, one side will be twice as thick as the other, not a very ergonomic design.
Anyway, you seem to be basing your decision on feeling, rather than thought. So go ahead, buy the g5. You're almost certain to regret it once you realise how inconvenient and underwhelming the attachments are, and you seem to be basing your decision solely on the camera module.
AnonD-376965, 01 Mar 2016"With the s7 edge you literally won't be worrying about battery, as long as you sleep at night... moreYes. I have an s5 at the moment that I do just that with. The S7 will be better and the s7 edge would blow it away. I understand your skepticism as you use an lg, and that's why I'm saying you'll regret it. At this point I just find it funny. I can't believe you don't even believe me lol, lg seriously that bad?
Anonymous, 29 Feb 2016But the G5(which I am all for, go LG!) does have a home button. The fingerprint sensor on the ... moreOh yeah silly me i totally forgot about that one, thanks. maybe ill bypass both then and go for the Sony Z5 premuim, no home button and 4k screen lol
AnonD-498221, 29 Feb 2016Camera module is a terrible idea. Why would you pay that much extra for such a small increase ... moreTo be honest when i got my LG G4 i thought the same thing. But they included free with the phone a second battery and a charger bay for that battery. I cannot tell you how many times while working late into a night having the extra battery has helped. I wait till its about 5-10 % turn it off pop the back off and swap the batteries. i have always either kept a second battery handy and charged or a 12,000 mah battery pack with me in case i need to charge the phone. Lg providing the free battery certainly made the difference in just liking a phone and loving it. Performance plus convenience all in one package
Mike, 29 Feb 2016In what way is the iphone 6s better than those two phones? Please tell us? It's dumb to compare previous gen phone with latest ones, Ignore
AnonD-442781, 01 Mar 2016You start off by saying you don't care about battery but end by saying you do. Make up your mi... more"With the s7 edge you literally won't be worrying about battery, as long as you sleep at night, you charge it then, and you're sorted. Even with intensive use all day." seriosly ? you really bealive that?
Both. Really good devices.
*S7/edge has reached point of Samsungs perfection, perfecting both design, UI and bringing back micro sd expansion and even waterproofing. As perfect Android device as it gets.
*LG G5 on other hand brings fresh air as it usually does with new and risky features.
This time breeze of fresh air was so strong so that it blew away even features that LG was known for and what users actually liked, particularly back buttons and myself I miss multi window functionality.
This time LG brought Metal looks, which is trending, looks nice and feels nice.
Important aspect was camera possibilities and best addition modular bottom cover.
One small step for LG, big step for modular phone to become reality.
Well, also they sacrificed battery capacity and screen to body ratio and added bulkiness.
Camera hump does look ok, but they could had made it better. Not big fan tho.
So this year both Sammy and LG did a good job, refining perfection for one and introducing new modern smartphone concept for other.
Looks like this year will bring many great smartphones also from other manufacturers too.
AnonD-442781, 01 Mar 2016You start off by saying you don't care about battery but end by saying you do. Make up your mi... moremate.. i don`t care internal battery cose i know at the end of the day will be off.. the only part that i care abou tbattery is the moment when i can do someting about it when i`m oout of battery .. your saying soo sure with s7 you will not have problems.. well that depends.. i`m not so sure about that.. the camera.. yes.. i use lg g3 and till now i got no problems with camera.. audio i care it but not from the video that is anyway shit audio no matter what you gona use .. it`s just "recoreded" . and it`s not about sleep at night.. sometimes just forget to plugin.. and sometimes just ned to go 100% and the most easyest way its by putting a new battery .. ! you focus only in one standard way .. you go out.. you go sleep .. charge batttery .. but.. in that normal standard way any phone works.. even g5 works in that standard mode with no problem.. the removal battery comes in a diferent situations.. way diferent. and yes.. holding the phone its way better and the way you record/vide/zoom its way better even the phone its a bit bigger.. there is no problem at all.. its not like i use that thing all the time with me.. it makes it way easyer to use. about case? i never use case. and i never got my phones damaged..and if you think you can use other phone normal with one hand.. i don`t know how you deal with it.. for me it looks preaty anoing i mean go take ur phone out one handed.. go take a phooto.. then swich to video mode.. zoom a bit record.. then go back to camera.. make one photo . then put back ur phone in ur pokets.. if you are able to do that verry easy with one hand.. what can i say .. congratulations.. but me personaly i can`t do that easy .. actualy i can`t even do it .. i have to focus a lot and probably my phone will go on the floor.
