Harmonica, 27 Feb 2016but they use sony sensors..
samsung knows that it will take time catch up or copyThey're dual-sourcing from SONY and themselves.
It's a lot better than Apple, who doesn't even have the expertise to develpp technology and just buys them from vendors.
Apple is a low-cost off-the-shelf brand. At least Samsung customizes their hardware more than anyone else.
Dovice, 27 Feb 2016It's all about the camera. Samsung introduced a feature on their phones a while back that I wa... moreyou are wrong, my old nokia N8 could pause and rerecord within 1 file, and im sure many others could at that time. its a standard feature for a very long time.

Also all pre-orders do not get translated into actual sales - this is applicable for MI5 as well. Samsung would anyway ship those 17 million S7 (and its variants) on-schedule and claim that S7 has broken records. Then after 2 months, do price-cuts (to the tune of 20% to 30%) to be able to sell all those shipped units eventually.
Anonymous, 28 Feb 2016seriously who is supposed to buy all these Samsung fanboys will definitely buy them! Xiaomi has 14 mil pre order. Samsung is planning to sell 17 mil. Seem like there is no bad economy at all!
S7 and S7 Edge are probably the most appealing Samsung models released so far. There are still may S3,S4 and S5 users out there and they are the right target customers for the upgrade. I think the estimate from Samsung on the unit sales is about right.
Progressive, 27 Feb 2016Now need make Samsung = USB Type-C, 2 front stereo speakers, Bluetooth Headphones. That's our very big problem. Last year, when there was not sd card on S6 - we complained. Smaller batteries - we complained. Now there is sd card & bigger battery too. Then also we complaint. This behaviour of human being sometimes sucks. Just think what a phone offers besides what it lacks.
Sorry for my bad English.

britcell is the name of the samsungs image sensor ..
by the way , samsung recently closed lots of its camera division ;-)
Nitwits, That was the first model edge, natural demand. This time no change in design and up & down specx, records are not easy to break, esp of oneself. Nobody is so desperate to buy, fist day first show, heavens is not going to fall. Lets see, otherwise on itself Sammy would declare as target achieve.
utk0212, 27 Feb 2016Why couldn't they just say 3:2 ratio rather than 6:4...its the same thing and more easy.. Because the standard post card size photos we used to print out were 6 by 4 inches.
I seriously hope they don't expect to sell these with only 32gb of storage. Slow sd cards don't make up for it. S8 better have 64gb, 128gb, and 256gb with or without a sd card slot. Oh yeah, and make the camera 16:9, not 4:3.
utk0212, 27 Feb 2016Why couldn't they just say 3:2 ratio rather than 6:4...its the same thing and more easy.. because the very bright people that are live in the comments section will say 3:2 is worse than 4:3. they need big numbers to feel like its better
Harmonica, 27 Feb 2016but they use sony sensors.. samsung knows that it will take time catch up or copyYeah, just the sensor. It still uses special technology like britecell and good software to position itself as the best smartphone camera. They also use less outsourced components than pretty much any other brand.
Grey1213, 27 Feb 2016You're talking about the camera here, which uses Samsung's patented technology to provide what... moreJust like last year, there's no clear winner between lg and samsung (unless someone is biased or paid to promote either), and this year, both g5 and s7 have amazing cameras. I dont remember if it's here or in another place, G5 actually beats S7 in regular photos when there's plenty of light (also video) and S7 wins in low light.
Harmonica, 27 Feb 2016but they use sony sensors.. samsung knows that it will take time catch up or copyActually Samsung and pretty much everyone else using Sony sensors gets better performance out of them than in Sony's actual devices. And Samsung actually does have one of the best cameras in the market
Why couldn't they just say 3:2 ratio rather than 6:4...its the same thing and more easy..
Giving a free vr is a good start to guarantee some sales numbers, and if they discount the S7 as soon as in the second and third week as they did with S6, it should have great sales
