DanT, 28 May 2010It seems you forgot about some other N8 advantages over Samsung i9000S like HDMI, FM Transmitt... moresamsung I9000S is·very greatest a BETTER phone of nokia n8 slow symbian 3 680mhz cpu lol samsung 1ghz and 512mb total ram
Spyroscesarsc, 29 May 2010I said that this is my opinion! Don't like it? Tell your opinion and that's all! There is no n... moreBut sadly, your opinion is flawed. You said that having a metal phones "makes noise", but you don't elaborate on how a metal phone could possibly make more noise than a plastic one. Maybe beating it against a wall perhaps?
My opinion is that people who prefer plastic phones do not know what quality is, & what it should be comprised of. Metal is more durable, looks classier, more exclusive & just all around a better material.
Plastic is cheap, breaks easily, looks boring & should be reserved for devices below the $200.00 mark, not for flagship handsets.
Also, you implied you got shocked by your metal MP3 player while charging via a PC?....LOL...charging a MP3 player via a USB isn't even close to enough power to shock you.
Can get rid of the option and back bar
get rid of the zoom bar
back and forward button in web broowser
the tool bar should be at the bottom non right hand side
stupid designer at nokia, I am not a professional, but I can design ui better than those designer at nokia
much better but whether it post a challenge to iphone / htc n others, remains to be seen....im waiting for it to be launched...
I have nokia. but on that presentation is the major fault. This fault make me seriously doubt in professional level of people working there. I'm not talking about engineers creating electronics/software, but all those who accepted it.
HOW gentleman, which introduced himself as a person responsible for N8 or whatever it would be in the future, showing to us nokia logo visible on the left side, being hard printed/stenciled, rotated by 90 degrees, could abuse me so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????????
well. with that kind of people on board, you know what you may expect.
my last e72 was my last contact with a NOKIA.
Anonymous, 29 May 2010What are you talking about?...."metal makes noise"?
What would you be doing with ... moreI said that this is my opinion! Don't like it? Tell your opinion and that's all! There is no need to say my opinion ridiculous! Ok? I prefer plastic! What's your prob? Even from Ericsson T100 and Nokia 3410 all my phones are plastic and I don't need a metallic phone! Won't make the screen resolution better neither the sound quality... Also, it's not very clever to hold a metallic device which is charging(bad memories by the use of metallic mp3 player charging by pc) even they say that is safe.
So, I haven't problem with metal but still prefer plastic! I would also like to see plastic battery pack with rubber support(saw it in a cheap SE phone).. :)
I really like the N8.
It looks fantastic!
Thank You Nokia!
Spyroscesarsc, 29 May 2010Yes, i forgot something...
- five band HSDPA : what's that? I said that N8 has better HSDP... moreWhat are you talking about?...."metal makes noise"?
What would you be doing with a mobile phone that would cause it make a bunch of noise? As for the comment about metal devices being for people who are power or money hungry, that is ridiculous. Why would anyone rather have a plastic handset over a metal one?
I am just saying that if you spent $500.00+ on a mobile phone, wouldn't you want it to look like it actually is worth the money?
surely this is the "BOOM" of Nokia Corporate, so I think with this stuff can we became free to swing and swing wide pda and smartphones, as today can see...
DanT, 28 May 2010It seems you forgot about some other N8 advantages over Samsung i9000S like HDMI, FM Transmitt... moreYes, i forgot something...
- five band HSDPA : what's that? I said that N8 has better HSDPA than Galaxy S, so I think I am ok!
- FM transmitter : Thry both have FM radio... What more bring a transmitter? Please explain... i don't have it.
- free gps, java : These are software themes. I didn't speak for software...
- I didn't speak for sizes, because is normal a device with 4" to be bigger... And, because Galaxy S is thinner
- HDMI : This is the main (and only serious i think) thing that I forgot. Sorry for that! But still it isn't the serious feature that could change the winner...
Still, these are two very good phones! :)
As for the materials of devices... I think that metal is for prestige! In my 19 years I don't really need to walk with a metallic phone... metal make noise. :p It's better for people who want to seem power or money etc... While plastic, of course seems more cheap but it's better choice for a low-profile young guy... My opinion of course. you may think something other. :)
P.S: The other comment(Yes, i forgot something... - five band HSDPA) failed! :p I don't know why... Please gsmarena delete this...
The Samsung has GPS navigation also. All Android phones 1.6+ have Google Maps Navigation.
I'm not hating on the N8 but I was surprised by seeing lags. I know it's still a work in progress but I guess I was expecting Symbian^3 to really sing on that beefed up hardware. I guess we'll just have to wait until the finished product is available for a final verdict although it does already look very promising.
