AnonD-491762, 02 Mar 2016when is the moto g first generation getting the update Unfortunately it's not going to happen, which is inexcusable as the Moto G 2nd gen has the exact same SoC as the Moto G 1st gen.
Moto G 2nd gen has the same innards as Moto G 1st gen. Same SoC. There is really no excuse for Moto not to update the first gen as well, other than forced obsolescence.

Nick, 02 Mar 2016I'm in Europe and I have 6.0 since last weekI'm in Europe and I don't. I have the dual-SIM version, though, but I think these should be updated first, because currently I'm on 5.0 and since 5.1 Android has built-in support for dual-SIM. What I have now is built (and maintained) by Motorola/Lenovo.
Still s6edge waiting for mm shame on u samsung u just done the announced of the update but never done anything so for...
At least Motorola update their phones
when is the moto g first generation getting the update
no motorola available on philippine market :(
Moto G 3rd Gen (2015) received Android M BUT with security update from 1st December 2015. This device Moto G 2nd Gen receives it after but with 1st of Jan 2016 security update. Well that sucks for Moto G 3rd Gen users!
I'm in Europe and I have 6.0 since last week
