Drago25013, 02 Mar 2016Cyanogenmod takes up more than 10GB.Wow what version of cm does that? Mine is around 2gb.
I don't understand why SD card is deemed to be the "solution" here.
Unless Samsung allowed the SD card to be integrated as internal storage, just like before, SD card usefulness for apps are limited as not all apps can be moved to SD (especially the built-in ones).
Anybody has a comparison how much storage does Android take on the Nexus 5X/6P? One should question why mobile OS is becoming more and more bloated. It's not funny if a mobile OS is reaching the size of a desktop OS.
which is unfair.. a dedicated storage for the OS should be provided by the Manufacturers as the consumers are paying extra for the size storage of the device..
AnonD-366586, 02 Mar 2016People criticize Touchwiz here but Touchwiz have several features and few bloatware as well th... moreMeanwhile you can install a few apps that do what you mention and only occupy just a fraction, about 20-50 MB, not 8GB!
Lagwiz sux in therm of design in my opinion. And its the bloatiest os out there!
IF i would get a sammy phone, i would root it in the next minute so i could delete 80% of the os.
What's the point of having a great specd device if you hate the interface?
But 98% of the users never root their phone or don't even have a clue what that is, not to mention what it can do..
My advice for people who dont root is to disable all the apps that can be disabled and you don't use and install the following apps:
- BUZZ Launcher + widget
- Elixir 2
AnonD-221755, 02 Mar 2016Touch wiz offers functionality? It is piece of junk, biggest bloatware. Maybe it us just me ... moreTouchwiz that introduced with Lollipop is the best looking Android UI so far. Sony and HTC's UIs are the ugliest ones. Closest to Touchwiz in terms of design is LG's UI.
I can say that this is NEITHER AN ADVANTAGE ..NOR DISADVANTAGE
considering that I have an S4 GT 9500 -16GB which came with only 9 GB user available out of the box!!! and its a main reason for me to upgrade
nearly 7.1 GB was occupied by the system and touchwiz , so considering the S7 came with much much features compared to the S4 , it is not a surprise at all that 8GBs isn't user available
samsung create this phone for 16gb and up variants for the os sink well. ohw well what can we do if that is the wants of samsung for their end-users. samsung will wait for their comments of their end-users. ha ha ha
AnonD-221755, 02 Mar 2016Touch wiz offers functionality? It is piece of junk, biggest bloatware. Maybe it us just me ... moreSeriousely what is peoples problem with touchwiz? Its a bit bloaty i will for sure agree with anyone....but other then that??? Its feature rich. Reliable, smooth, customisable and easy to navigate....i have had plenty of phones and i still prefer touchwiz and it gets better with each iteration.....it is bloaty and some of the stuff could and should be done away with and or make features available as download instead of being baked in but other then Thats Its not as bad as people cry out
fog, 02 Mar 2016S6 takes around 6.57gb and around 25 gb is available so even if s7 takes 8gb of system storage... moreit is more efficient to use the phone if it is only using 3-4gb build in apps and the os it self for you to experience a fluid flow of your phone. 6 and up gb is to much.
And how is this a bad news for the S7? It will still got 24GB of free space. And you can add that cheap 200gigs sd card for more! This would be shitty if you have an iPhone with 16gigs of storage.
people forgot that this device has slot for Micro SdCard and it can support up to 200 GB ;-)
Tom-Helge, 02 Mar 2016Yeah, but contains the fraction of the features the TouchWiz ROMs contains though.Touch wiz offers functionality?
It is piece of junk, biggest bloatware.
Maybe it us just me but honestly, Samsung's android 'version' is IMHO the most shittiest!!
People criticize Touchwiz here but Touchwiz have several features and few bloatware as well that doesn't mean it should be knocked off from Samsung devices.
- Quick settings panel is handy
- Builtin smart manager that optimises phone
- Theme support
- Smart gestures
All these are very handy.
P, 02 Mar 2016Cool mate, stick to alcatel, iphones or xiaomi, whatever's cheapest xJust saying...
Xiaomi devices are nice, you get a lot of bang for the buck (IMHO).
Xperia, 02 Mar 2016Sony take 6.5GB can be seen on xperia MYes, but I can't understand why Xperia X takes 12GB storage for OS use. Much bloatware I think.
