My s7 edge was exposed to oceanwaves. I forgot to wash it with fresh water. It's been half a month, can I still wash it to avoid future damage?
Got my S7 Edge wet after using to take photos in the pool and now cannot change using the cable even 24hrs later. The phone is bone dry after trying all recommendations to dry it out.
This is my second galaxy 7. I went to the pool 4 feet of water. I never let the phone go to the bottom, did not swim with it, I only took a couple of shots at the surface. The phone got wet from the children splashing and once the phone was submerged at the top when I move away from the children. The Phone continued to work fine until later. It would not charge saying there was water in the charging port. I shook the phone to try and get the excessive water out, and let it stand for two days. Afterward it charged only when it wanted through the Port. I broke down a brought a cordless charger. I finally took the Phone back to sprint. They gave me a new Phone. I went to a water park this time water was splashed on the phone. Yes the phone got wet, but not by submerging it, same problem. This Phone is not Water resistant it just has fewer problems than others when itÂ’s wet. Galaxy should stand by itÂ’s product and replace everyone with this error message. In addition it should stop advertising the phone as water resistant because IT IS NOT...
do any body knows what IP is ....? may this will help us to get it
In the IEC it specifies an
international classification system for the sealing effectiveness of enclosures of electrical
equipment against the intrusion into the equipment of foreign bodies (i.e., tools, dust,
fingers) and moisture. This classification system utilizes the letters "IP" ("Ingress Protection")
followed by two digits. (An "X" is used for one of the digits if there is only one class of protection;
i.e., IP X4 which addresses moisture resistance only.)
1. Degrees of Protection - First Digit
The first digit of the IP code indicates the degree that persons are protected against contact with
moving parts (other than smooth rotating shafts, etc.) and the degree that equipment is protected
against solid foreign bodies intruding into an enclosure.
0 No special protection
1 Protection from a large part of the body such as a hand (but no protection from
deliberate access); from solid objects greater than 50mm in diameter
2 Protection against fingers or other objects not greater than 80mm in length and 12mm
3 Protection from entry by tools, wires, etc., with a diameter or thickness greater than
4 Protection from entry by solid objects with a diameter or thickness greater than 1.0mm
5 Protection from the amount of dust that would interfere with the operation of the
2. Degrees of Protection - Second Digit
Second digit indicates the degree of protection of the equipment inside the enclosure against the
harmful entry of various forms of moisture (e.g. dripping, spraying, submersion, etc.).
0 No special protection
1 Protection from dripping water
2 Protection from vertically dripping water
3 Protection from sprayed water
4 Protection from splashed water
5 Protected against low-pressure jets from all directions - limited ingress permitted
6 Protected against direct sprays from all directions - limited ingress permitted
7 Protection against effects of immersion from 15cm to 1m
8 Protection against complete, continuous submersion in water from 15 meters or
so, it's just a matter of time until someone make an APK that can utilize this moisture sensor and put a good use to it.
AnonD-501554, 05 Mar 2016So it's not water proof right? It should be a water resistant phone. If u put it in just a plate of water than maybe it going to be waterproof.
AnonD-501554, 05 Mar 2016So SG7 is awater resistant phone not water proof , right? Offcourse, its waterproof but upto certain conditions.
AnonD-501554, 04 Mar 2016Thanks for the info but it's confusing. I thought that if it's waterproof there is no limit on... moreYes, you are right. Your example about the watch is right. Of course there is a limit to water proofing. Even a sealed ball sunk in the ocean will leak given time. Most consumer goods are waterproof given the condition stated by manufacturer or rating scale.
AnonD-501554, 05 Mar 2016So SG7 is awater resistant phone not water proof , right? In the technical sense nothing is actually 'water proof'. But ip68 is the highest IP rating there is.
this is something made for anti fool...... any persone minded wont pluga phone with water in the charging port. ..... just a fool ... this feature is great in case that by accident you drop you phone in water or some one by mistake drop a glassof water and your phone gets splashed .... even a child knows that a phone with water will be fried in seconds after plugged it in .... so keep in mind that tech is no perfect and your phone may die inmediately or may display that funny message ......
really kid never heard abot razor blades

And S7 can't even fully ace G5.
