Had your G1, G2 then ran away from android to an 8X and then One (M8) Windows. I'll be waiting on the Surface Phone next.
HTC decided to focus on Android, yes! what has Android helped them other than losing market share? What people do not realise is that without Samsung Android will not go anywhere. Wait when Samsung matures their home brewed software and you will see what happens to Android. If I was a CEO of a phone manufacturing company, i will build a phone which runs on all major software. let users choose what they want!
It doesn't matter whether HTC will not invest in Windows 10. They are not making from Android anyway!
HTC can barely have the money to make an Android phone, so I expected that they won't make another WP device.
Good HTC. There is no need to bother with Windows.
Windows is not really happening though it had potential
Windows Phone is lack of everything... from bulky design, unnecessary animation, limited apps, less supported processor chips and unattractive UI... Its time to die Microsoft, Steve Jobs getting back what he supposed to get at first...
Anonymous, 06 Mar 2016Not to mention screen-mirroring which is build onto many droids as well. All Win10 dows is use... moreYou clearly don't know enough about Continuum to speak about it. Continuum is not hardwired and is NOT a screen-mirroring technique. Android is also far from being the first mobile OS to support screen mirroring.
Do NOT speak if you do NOT know what you are talking about.
Sounds smart... They started their Android-focus in 2011:
ParadiseF40, 05 Mar 2016I guess you never heard of Pushbullet. Android can do that for years. Not to mention screen-mirroring which is build onto many droids as well. All Win10 dows is use a hardwired landscape screenmode for thwir version.
And yet, that is the essence of the story? Each operating system uses what he wants, he's made products...lol...
In my opinion, HTC is the only one who can decide, what O.S uses its phones. If they think their ANDROID meets the requirements, then this is it.
And to expose the truth behind the scenes (mobile market) to which few have access to all, the companies that produce the phones, seeking to obtain OS manufacturers, certain "perks (advantages)" ....financial. Point. That is the reality. If have obtained, then incorporates SO in their phones.
Im actually happy for Windows phone, htc is nothing but full of crappy hardware.
Each manufacturer of phones has the right to choose its own phones operating system. The answer will receive from customers, who will approve or not approve, that phone, simple and banal, BUY OR NO, phone respectively. In this chapter, can't than he is given the rights of HTC.
Noel, 05 Mar 2016Would be nice to see that HP widows phone announced at MWC running Android. They stand a bette... morethe problem is the software windows system is bad

this is 2016 and instagram still beta
the wrong is from microsoft
No Matter, 05 Mar 2016Well this statement clearly reflects on the future of the windows mobile platform. No it doesn't. The statement reflects the amount of effort an OEM is willing to take in any other OS than android. Android is the easy way, clearly HTC is chosing for that. How big of an android sceptic I am, sure I guess for HTC it is the better choice for this moment, they want to see big numbers with the new flagship sales and we all know for now that is only possible with android. Meaning that the most people have not really a choice than buying an android phone, and stick with it, and never try another OS.
Besides, the One M8 for Windows never was sold globally. If it was sold globally, it would have been a very good alternative for the Nokia Lumia flagshis back then. So it won't be missed, a Windows 1 version of the HTC 10.
Well this statement clearly reflects on the future of the windows mobile platform.
