Having owned all 3 HTC M devices, I have learned that the screen brightness and res, camera quality and sheer thickness of these phones makes them undesirable and unpleasant to use. The sense skin, speakers and build quality are superb but each time they release a device they always have a serious floor in there (Low RAM amounts / No Quad HD / overheating) - the latter is the very worst part of the experience. In my opinion the M7 was a revolution - and really did lead the way for Android devices to think about form and materials - and it was a great phone - it's younger siblings have always promised but never quite delivered.
Trooper, 04 Mar 2016Well, where do you want it placed, in the middle of the screen ?.homebutton should be replaced with softkey

Just look at those spamtrolls commenting hardware... moreI was saying that every person has a different opinion on the design and I am in no position to judge an opinion about the design, but the hardware is the best and there is nothing to be said about that at the moment.
Really don't like the way it looks and compared to M7 or M8 really out of line with a great series. Missing boomsound front facing speakers, Infra red (ok... not everyone uses)... all for the sake of a fingerprint scanner whatever it is called. one word... disappointed

Just look at those spamtrolls commenting hardware or specifications they look for in every other news article stating specifications of new phones about to be released. Haven't you seen a 'My spec/hardware wishlist:' comment?
Where are the BoomSound speakers? Why does look like an iphone/Samsung Galaxy from the front?
HTC, I'm dissapointed... again.
should be less bezel than this in 2016 !!
screen to body ratio not less than 71%
Beautiful design actually and really like the bevelling.
These pictures like the A9 did not do justice. Where in fact when the A9 came out, OMG it is absolutely stunning to view and hold. The finger print sensor like the this 10 is perfectly placed for convenience. Faultless too. as soon as you bring it out its quick as a flash and no need to fumble around for the back or flip it. Its total convenience and the smooth rounded sides and edges are tops. I have not missed double speakers. No one I know likes to keep hearing other peoples phones but the audio is excellent anyway. The quality of the builds of recent times are leading. well done
Alien, 05 Mar 2016Hardware 9/10 Design -2/10 Bleah! The hardware is the best out there, mate. And the design... That is subjective. But I think the hardware should be 10.
I can't tell if I like this phone or not, maybe I was just expecting more?
What happened, Htc? Now what is this junk here? If you are trying to convince Samsung fanboys to buy Htc then you are going the wrong route. Samsung has mostly so ugly phones that people are buying them for price, not looks. Really htc. Putting that on the market will kill you. You have done too many mistakes already. Get your act together! I really liked you, when I got my first Touch Cruise with WM 6.1, Then the Desire S with Android and Sensation XE after that. Now the M8s that I got doesn't even have the barometer and IR-scanner that you are still advertising a year later. At least it has the looks.
Nexus 5, 04 Mar 2016Why? Because that's where the on screen back button is too, and it's very obvious. Do you have... moreI am not sure what apps you use but in my browser the back button is my phone's back button. In LG phones you can switch the on screen buttons and I always put the back button to the right. In Samsung phones I just use the back button that is on the RIGHT, because most people are right handed and our thumbs hit the right back button easier than if it were on the left.
HTC should have followed what Samsung does.
