Android Nougat 7.0 really sucks the battery. Surely, google has to release some patch file to fix this issues.
Anonymous, 10 Mar 2016What's even the purpose they release N preview if M has very little market share and been Rele... moreThat's the very reason they're releasing Android N preview so early for developers, so we won't have to wait so long to get this update. less hate and more think, pls.
Lately,I have seen features that Apple starts using that Samsung used first, then Android makes it an Android feature years later.
AnonD-263286, 09 Mar 2016Multi-Windows, Split-Screen multitasking, on Android barely by 2017 ?!! Thank you Samsung f... moreThanks God they're bringing it to all androids. So it's not necessary to buy a samsung phone to enjoy this multi-windows mode. I don't like Samsung.
Hope Google has built a proper 'HAL' this time. So that other manufacturers don't have to built it for android. Resulting in the famous problem of your device not getting regular operating system updates. P. S. Please don't ask me what is a HAL. You can search on GOOGLE :))
Had anyone think about the name of the new android version?
I think it could be NUTELLA.
This is really exciting stuff, a lot more so than marshmallow even at this nascent stage. Kudos to Google for adopting a more open development cycle this time around too. I do hope that this multiwindow system is increased to more than two apps by the time Android N becomes official, split-screen is cool for phones, but on tablets, one could easily work with 4 apps snapped in 4 windows.
Anonymous, 10 Mar 2016Nexus 5 2013 is officially deadHow do you know.... Maybe the Nexus 5 will still get the final release off Android N. The Nexus 4 didn't got the Android L Dev Previews but still got the final release of Lollipop. There's still a bit of hope for our Nexus 5.
Anonymous, 10 Mar 2016Because they need to test it dummyI think your missing the point smarty Lol the

AnonD-456829, 10 Mar 2016Android N- Android Namkeen :D :D But it is not a sweet food.
Its Android Nougat. Or Android Nutella, but it sounds like Nadella.
ithehappy, 09 Mar 2016So much for those who hate TouchWiz now, LOL ironic thing is even I am one of them :DYeah. People should pay more respect to Samsung since they were the first ones introducing this feature on Galaxy S3 in 2012.
This should give you a clear idea of the situation.
Google releases a preview, only for their own devices now, not until the summer will other companies get a version to work with. This is probably a few months in to Googles own testing, meaning that Google gets a big head start. More than half a year probably.
Google should do builds for at least Samsung Sx and Note series, LG Gx. Sony Zx (in the future X), HTC One Mx, and so on. That would help speed things along for when the full vesion is released, but also get more prople to try it out.
Google has the money to do that, even if they would have to hire a few more software developers. They could probably get those devices for free from the makers, in a partner deal or as compensation for the OS and Google services.
People complain why it takes others so long to implement latest Android version.
It takes Google a lot of months as well, just that some of them come even before Google announces the OS.
And for those complaining about skins/customisation.
Apparantly google copies features from those skins (multi-window is far from the first), so if they were laid to rest, development in android would be much much slower.
And there are makers that offer better batterylife than google does, despite them having skins. So clearly there are ways to optimise the performance that google hasn't managed to to with their nexus series.
And even Google devices comes pre-installed with a lot of useless software.
Google's own apps are not the fastest or most ram-optimised.
And they use more space in the device that most non-google apps that come with phones from other makers.
Really the only app that should be included on Googles own devices should be the app store. From there you could get the rest. Googles versions of apps, or those by others.
sony, 10 Mar 2016like that multitasking of sony smartphone. ^-^No. Small app is basically only widgets. Its the copy of sammy mini app.
While multi windows is full app side by side.
"The big new headline feature in Android N, at least so far, is the addition of a multi-window mode. Or call it split-screen multitasking if you want, it's the same thing. This will be incorporated by developers into their apps by using a new manifest attribute."
So this means it is not a real multi-window feature, because it depends on the app developers whether they allow to run their apps in multi-window or not (so whether they implement the "new manifest attribute" or not).
The other problem is that the abandoned apps will never be updated to become compatible with the multi-window feature.
As I know, with some modding and rooting, you can force the multi-window for ANY APP on Samsung flagship and older LG flagship phones.
