Please Google! :) The N5 still has a lot of performance and it wouldn't hurt getting the latest version. If only you would allow or convince Samsung to build a Nexus, then I might just upgrade.
G5 user, 10 Mar 2016what a shame for google ... if they could support devices for longer than 18 months manufactu... more"The same, if not better hardware"??
You can't have it both ways brah.
They both have THE EXACT SAME SPECS. SD800 + 2GB RAM. Don't be a baby just because you don't know how to take advantage of Android's open-source nature. I have a LG G2 running 6.0.1-based CM13 flawlessly, and before that, AOKP's 5.1.1 ROM.
As I find myself saying a lot here:
You are entitled to your own opinions, but you are not entitled to your own facts.
If Nexus 5 gets N, my money will be worth it. Only Nexus to get 3 major os upgrades so far if N hits it.
This is obvious... Nexus 5 is still running stuff faster than many nexus devices
6.0 on Nexus out perform Nexus 5X lol so Google cant say 'the device is not powerful enough' bs
Anonymous, 11 Mar 2016yeah but its unusable. The only reason you get the update is to slow down your device so you w... moreTroll obvious Troll is obvious..
iPhone 4S runs perfect just like iPod Touch 5th generation both have same SoC..they can easily run 3 apps at once. Not all users run 10+ apps in the background..
Besides your 2GB crapDroid..running Marshmallow has a problem running 3 apps in background without lag..
Anonymous, 10 Mar 2016That ancient device belongs in the museum.if it only gets supported for max 18 months, then it's only worth below $300.
about 2 years old and it's already ancient, LOL.
Its really weired that how a 5 year old iphone can keep up with updates while 3 year pure android phone is not eligible to get an update as google has policy of 18 months of update program for nexus phones.
Its is amusing that even windows is providing free update of windows 10, where they were charging some money for updates earlier.
It is also strange that a year old lollipop is seen on most of the android phones.
I love android and i really want google to change its policies for updates.
Anonymous, 10 Mar 2016Meanwhile iPhone 4s from 2011 is running the latest iOS. This is why android loses users. yeah but its unusable. The only reason you get the update is to slow down your device so you will upgrade.
Anonymous, 10 Mar 2016Meanwhile iPhone 4s from 2011 is running the latest iOS. This is why android loses users. I know it might sound silly to even mention it, but Windows Phones do the same thing. I have a Lumia 435 (lowest end model you can get) and I'm running the most recent preview build.
Last year they came for Nexus 4, this year they will come for the Nexus 5. RIP.
Typical of those from Google. One warm ... ... other cold..:)))
Why now and not earlier, this question far in reply, huh?
Anonymous, 10 Mar 2016That ancient device belongs in the museum.Following your opinion every last year Samsung device should belong to mousem too.
Meanwhile iPhone 4s from 2011 is running the latest iOS. This is why android loses users.
Anonymous, 10 Mar 2016That ancient device belongs in the museum. What you meant to say was the Ancient device running pure Marshmallow that 99% of other Androids wish they had...
Anonymous, 10 Mar 2016Google stated that Nexus devices will get software upgrade/update 18 months after they stopped... moreAfter stop selling? That's a bit insane to think it was that even if they did say it, i would think it's more of a mistake than a promise.
AnonD-111717, 10 Mar 2016well it should, it's a 2013 device.That ancient device belongs in the museum.
It really should recieve N.It's a legendary device. Reminds me of Galaxy S3 and KitKat...
what a shame for google ... if they could support devices for longer than 18 months manufactures could be forced to do it too following google policies but if the headquarter said just 18months then we are in manufacture hands ....... i wish my LG G2 could get some more than just 5.0.2 outdated os by the way ..... i didnt receive 5.1.1 either.... and old nexus 4 did already ... nexus 5 is in marshmallow and even midrange devices like lg vista got the update to 6.0 too butttt G2 with same if not better hardware than nexus 5 is till stock in 5.0.2 ... where this device is more than capable to run 6.0 besides due to google / lg agreement with nexus devices they could get access to quick updates even for old devices but well this not like we want this like google and their friends wants.
