hey guys. I am trying to decide between this phone XT720 and Nokia N8. Which one should i get? I have been using Nokia for many years... so i never touched an android but i heard good stuff about it. I usually like phones which are elegant/sleek. xt720 is 10.9 mm thick and Nokia is 12.9 thick... but Nokia is all aluminum and have so much colours to choose from . I guess my deciding factor would be "when" it comes out and price... i'm leading towards the Nokia but i also like this design... how does texting input work in an android? do they have numeric keypad input (t9) and a good virtual qwerty? (that predicts texts too?)help? hata1979@yahoo.ca
No hardware keyboard + small screen = texting will be cumbersome. I'm going to hold out for Droid 2 (keyboard) or Shadow (4.3" screen).
I also don't like the asymmetric design, same with original Milestone/Droid. Why do Motorola and HTC insist on that stupid "chin" that makes Android phones look like cheap ugly toys?

check out the videos at engadget, including playback thru HDTV:

seems to handle HD well
[deleted post]hahaaha danny's definately a samsung fan boy... no one on earth would state something like "TFT is old technology, i dont want this phone"...
the most common sense reason for using a TFT screen is cost, you'd be paying $100 more for this phone if it had a AMOLED screen in it and the resolution would be exactly the same. so why would you not buy this phone?
looks cool.
love the assymetric design
this phone is gonna be crazyy, the milestone/droid was such a success, im sure this one will be as well. i still can't believe how much motorola stepped up thier game... from being the most crap phone company in the world (or close enough anyways) to being one of the top. SE and LG should bow down and praise moto for ripping them apart.
Danny, 07 Jun 2010Why would anyone buy a cell phone with TFT screen when you have much better display technology... morewho cares if its a TFT screen, the resolution is just as much with other technologies... and in case you forgot, TFT technology is one of the most dependable technologies out there, hence why its been in the market for so long. you'd be a fool to say no to this phone cause it has a TFT screen. Go research the problems with other screen technologies and why so many companies are still sticking with this technology.
(people like you dont even know the background behind teh technology, but just cause newer technology comes out, you choose to be biased without and background info.... p.s. im an engineer that did several studies in screen technologies, specifically OLED, OMLED and AMOLED)
