I totally agree that it's an overpriced, underfeatured phone with proprietary software closed as Fort Knox. But I can't deny it looks great and it's great to use too. That's what millions of iPhone buyers want and they get it.

Apple iPhone 4 is getting closer with this iteration they have now arrived in 2007, with a little bit effort and another 2 upgrades they might get close to "HTC 4G or Samsung Galaxy i9000"

Why isn't Apple mentioning the speed of the Chipset ? i reckon thats because it's much lower5 clocked and not as smooth as a 1 Gig Snapdragon, someone is saying his htc desire is slow in compare too iphone 3gs (that's a big massive bull...t) my brother got the htc desire as well and i got the iPhone 3Gs after using my brothers phone for a while i wanted to keep it and asked him if he'd swap, the htc desire is smooth as silk !!

The Handset itself looks "HOT" but the software implementation is Flawed, the device has front and rear camera but you can't even make 3G video calls, iPhone 4 supports videocalling "only over Wifi" that means you have to be at home or in the office next to a router, how stupid is that ?! as this isn't enough you can only call other iPhone 4 owners !! That's a dealbreaker for me !! i'll go with the Android based Samsung Galaxy i9000s)
(Android app store is steadily rising as well)

I did get the Htc Desire, it was fast but the OS was laggy for a 1Ghz Cpu. Also Applications where so little compared to iPhones. The screen was not as responsive and the browsing was Hell. I traded it for an iphone

Great update overall. Great built quality and materials that u don't see on other devices.
I prefer this over Nokia or Android coz of the Appz and ease of use.

That's a pretty ignorant thing to say. Apple might be huge in the states, but you do realize that there are countries outside the US? 300 million people vs 5,7 billion people...

One of the reasons iPhone meets so much ridicule on international forums is that the american cellular nets are so behind the rest of the world(Europe and Asia mostly). It's presented as a uberhigh tech phone, when the first version didn't even have 3G when it was released in Europe(when that was a standard feature in Europe), it didn't support MMS(which even the lowest budget phones supported), and now with the latest release, Jobs is bragging about how marvelous video call is. Were talking about video calls restricted to wifi and between iphones, when in Europe we've had video call between ANY phone over the PHONE net since about 2003.

Iphone are good at what they do, making idiot proof smart phones that anybody can use with a really good appmarket. But they don't make the best phones and they are ridiculously overpricesd and overhyped. If you like their phones and value the features(mostly the great UI) over other phones and don't mind paying the price, good for you.
But do understand that MANY people think there are much better options.

With the iphone 4 new features....let's be honest, apple is trying to play catch up with android in terms of hardware specs and a few software specs. I own both iphone and nexus one but I beleive apple is going to need a major overhaul by next year's next gen iphone in order to keep their inevitable supremacy in the market.
