Symbian and Lumia phones had this feature a few years back. Android Always On definitely adds functionality. Really convenient.

What if you don't have a watch, your both hands are full, your phone is lying on the table and you need the time? I know a lot of ifs but still useful.
But I do have a question about this, in case any one has any idea, how will this work alongside Doze? Wouldn't this just render doze useless?
anand1089, 12 Mar 2016Well to 2010, says Nokia N8 !!It wasn't the same thing, not so useful anyway. tbh, my SE T68i had that too xD
Mirage.PH, 12 Mar 2016useless feature, you can check the time by just pressing the lock button on your phone. Yes. And there is is also a notification light on most phones. People will need to unlock their phones anyway to answer a notification.

It's useless bro why do you need to check the time on your phone if you have watch? why you need to reach your pocket to get your phone and check time if you can check your watch? why not pressing the lock button if you already holding your cellphone in your hands? FYI! this feature will consume battery so why you need it in the first place?
Mirage.PH, 12 Mar 2016useless feature, you can check the time by just pressing the lock button on your phone. sorry but not that useles at all..... if are busy and i cant take the phone u can simply look at the screen and there is the information u need. same like u do with a wall clock... u only watched ... would u like to bother reaching a power button everytime u need get time because it is not handy but still next to u

MR.obvious, 12 Mar 2016OMG really!??? thank you very much. i looked for that on the manual for hours.is this a compliment or you are just being st**id? every phone has standby time on the home screen so why not checking your phone without doing anything? I bet you are so lazy to that. LOL!
