Ankit, 12 Jun 2010hey..i updated thru air..nice music player UI..and kinetic scrolllin is better...I hav hacked ... morewhat was the site?? pls help!! i really wannna update my 5530.. tnx!
hey..i updated thru air..nice music player UI..and kinetic scrolllin is better...I hav hacked earlier & there is no change after hackk..Really happy wid that
After using Nokia touchscreen mobile for such a long time, I am damn sure about one thing and that is, nokia software developer sucks!!!
They took such a long time to implement kinetic scrolling through out the UI but still the K.S. lacks, alottttt. Specially in the application menu ( The one place where we need the most of K.S. to find the application easily.)
i had this phone for 5months.. couldn't take how sluggish it was. love the phone, great design. but the os just screws up the whole user experience.
Well i bought the 5800 a while back ...and after having it till just a few days back i can tell you the os and ui of symbian..my friend has this cell phone 5530.
Advantages
1)variety in movies format
2)music is decent
3)allows multi tasking
4)decent bluetooth support
5)Symbian support gives variety of convinient apps
Disadvantages
1)Slow as hell...if u use it a lot and have a lot of apps and items on it...nearly freezes
2)Limited number of applications and the ones that exist have the same graphics as nokia phones did 2 years ago..
3)The phone hangs whereby does not startup and requires a hard reset
4)Very uncomfortable user interface...sluggish at best unresponsive and requires usage of nails to use many times..
5)Pathetic web browsing experience...non user friendly browsers..
6)Software has a few glitches and bugs which are annoying
7)Most phones at this price range have video and audio and will provide you with better os for the mobile. Apple or Samsung have one of the best OS at the moment ...smooth fast user friendly.
This phone is meant mostly for those who wish to use it for audio video purposes only...but to be honest many phones at the same price do this much better with better functionality.
Just finished updating via OTA, music player has a new look and auto rotation is much faster, OVI sync is the app menu for those that didn´t find it
nice update. thanks nokia.

Did you got the exactly procedures of how to download using PC and Handset directly, cause I'd like to try now using one of them. But do not forget I have never updated my handset, and I dont have lot of experience on updating others handsets.
Thanks for attention.
I could only update using FOTA. And it's coming from a device wich has a changed Product Code already.
If you didn't change your Product Code, please do. Change it from your operator one to a nokia one and you will get firmware updates day 1.
