Hero, 24 Mar 2016Life's good when you play more with tha power of 10 Waiting for G5 and M10 see which one is betterI'm in the same boat HTC 10, LG G5, and Xperia X Performance are 3 phones I want to see before I make my decision.
AnonD-477406, 24 Mar 2016It could be HTC's software as well. HTC Sense is typically much lighter than TouchWiz or Xiaom... moreSkin makes no difference, 820 phones from several brands get same performance, around 130k

I dont believe I/O performance can lead such difference to other two, especially head up to Samsung.
So, only overclocking and performance governor may do it, or simply HTC 10 has a FHD(1080p) screen. No one can confirmed it really has QHD screen until around April 12th, right?
[deleted post]Good benchmarks do matter. Antutu is a horrible, horrible one. For some weird reason it caught on and now we have to suffer its arbitrary silliness.
A good benchmark that measures longevity and integrity of processes would matter because it would actually tell you how long would your process remain in memory. Also one that measure multicore burst speeds would be important because it would measure the gun of your phone.
Combine the two and you have a half decent benchmark.
Antutu does not even touch the above, it's a toy benchmark, a relic from a long lost epoch, obsolete and low brow.
AnonD-507785, 24 Mar 2016"...last of the major Android handsets for the first half of 2016 that's yet to be announced."... moreTrue, they have the Huawei Mate 8 in 5th position. Better than the Note 5 and iPhone 6.
They need to start taking them more seriously.
"...last of the major Android handsets for the first half of 2016 that's yet to be announced." Seriously GSMA? You're forgetting about Huawei P9. Oh...it's not a major player like HTC? Really? Who was in top 3 brands, that sold the most phones in 2015? Samsung, Apple and...oh yeah, HUAWEI. I've heard Xiaomi took the 3rd place in the last few months, but that doesn't change the fact, that nor LG, nor HTC or other "major" brands wasn't even competing for it. So how about you get your fact straight first?
Benchmarks hardly matter in today's world. Design, Overall performance, battery life, resistance to elements (water and dust), reliable fingerprint sensor, camera, display etc are the factors that matter! In that regard, Samsung has already set new standards with its s7 flagships which are pretty tough to beat. Also Samsung has an advantage as the s7/s7edge is already up for grabs while the HTC 10 is yet to be unveiled. So all in all HTC has a daunting task to claim the 'numero uno' spot in the Android world!

AnonD-42959, 24 Mar 2016Since when having the fastest clockspeed/processor benchmarks only makes the phone the best on... more"tops competition" means it has the highest benchmark score, it doesn't mean it is the best.
Such a beast but too bad the design is ripped off from the iphone and home button from the galaxy series hardly to imagine since HTC is well renowned to come up with its own designs HTC one was the best phone to date design wise
But still lags when scrolling lists, switching accounts in Gmail and Inbox, when deleting photos in gallery. But, tops charts.
AnonD-15027, 24 Mar 2016Samsung will never beat HTC now and in Future !!!Soooo right you are, actually no phone manufacturer can beat HTC, they talk bs about HTC cos they hate that their phones have been beat by HTC.
U will see, htc will blow away competition this year, much smoother than samsung even when lower bench score, imagine now when much better score on antutu.
Gibby, 24 Mar 2016... but is it waterproof? ;)It's not waterproof but there are legit waterproof cases out there
Life's good when you play more with tha power of 10

AnonD-442781, 24 Mar 2016I'm skeptical. How could they get a higher score? Lower resolution? I wouldn't think there's t... moreIt could be any number of factors. Several components can contribute to this score, so the quality of those components could potentially drive up the score. There's also software optimization, which can be a surprisingly big deal. Really, it could be anything. When it's something as complex as a smartphone, it could be anything. We'll just have to wait until its official, and even then it probably won't be exactly this. Benchmark scores vary from attempt to attempt, even if you run the same benchmark three times in a row without pause.
