As the one above me said they're moving too fast.
The next step as we all know it, they will abandon the technology to move to something new and the customer will be stuck with useless hardware like Chromecast devices and built in cast platform that we could no longer use. And then we will have to buy new devices with new technologies.
So a shame. Miracast is the best technology yet ! they should've improved it instead of burying it and disabling it on their nexus devices so their "cast" will be used !
Miracast/Wifi Direct could very well become the next evolution in wireless transfer methods... Think of it as the next bluetooth just much much more powerfull!

Almost every manufacturer nowadays bring their *next* too quick. They don't allow even the existing technology to be fully matured and accepted. Bad trend I would say! Good for companies but bad for consumers.

Next they would end support pretty quick first for chromecast 1 then for 2. Nice!
