abhi, 18 Jun 2010This tech can't beat bluetooth because 10 cm distance sounds so much funny and rubbish. 10 cm ... moreyes Imcr is rite
this tech is meant to replace those electronic cards people have in which you just hold you're wallet (with the card inside) up to a sensor next to the door and the door opens
they want to replace plane, train, hotel, tickets etc with everything just being on you're phone.
goto a shop and just hold you're phone over the sensor and baam. All good.
Work on making phones Nokia. Something 'revelotionary' that nobody really gives a damn about. Used to love Nokia, now they suck so bad....used to like the N73, now I won't touch Nokia's with a barge pole. Random Nokia, random.
This is very similar to the Sony Felica system:
I think it's a pretty cool idea and am surprised it hasn't taken off sooner
Where I live, back in the 331x days, believe soembody put the micro-chip into the "shell" of the phone, to enable the phone to use as travel pass, vending macine, etc...
Whle more shops began to accept such wireless payment method, the phone and the design soon died and nobody ever talked about it.
Or were the engineers just watched A-Team or something?
Is there any significant news about Nokia lately? it's like GSMarena is squeezing the last few drops of juice so that people would think Nokia is STILL in the game.
Instead of having this gimmick, why don't they just produce UP-TO-DATE phones. Up-to-date meaning, LESS SYMBIAN, MORE of the other OS. :) Just my 2 cents.
abhi, 18 Jun 2010This tech can't beat bluetooth because 10 cm distance sounds so much funny and rubbish. 10 cm ... moreIt was not made to replace Bluetooth. It can be used as a way to pay for groceries, parking and similar things. It is much safer then Bluetooth because it transmits signal only 10cm, very hard to intercept.
This tech can't beat bluetooth because 10 cm distance sounds so much funny and rubbish. 10 cm distance means that we will again have to paste our phones together to transfer data like infrared
Oh... YEAH !!!
Thank's a lot Nokia,
U will do it n' receive my hopes !
I very happy to hear it.
but will very* happy (again) if this technology can beated Japanese phones technology (ex; SHARP, cs_other)
Anonymous, 18 Jun 2010Wow, hackers and credit-card thieves will stretch their antennas really fast!this starts to sound more as bad than good news
no no Nokia, Apple will slap this onto a new iPhone
and THAN the phenomena will start, you can make it as high tech and revolutionary as you want, it could shoot lasers and turn into a light sabre but untill apple "invents" it
it will not be a success.
Sadly there is truth behind such sarcasm.
poor nokia, i used to be a huge fan but the N97 happened
Wow, hackers and credit-card thieves will stretch their antennas really fast!
Mobile phones really need more new interesting technology like this
meego ui guideline is leaked
It is spelled Finland, not Finnland, unless you write it in German. If NFC devices become popular it will become a popular payment method like it is in Japan.
