If I can't hold my phone by the left lower corner, how I'm supposed to hold it? Satio's antenna is on the lowest part of the phone, so why doesn't it have reception issues?
iPhone 4 is indeed a good phone, but reception issues, isn't something forgivable by today's standards.
lol this is pathetic. Apple should be trying to fix the issue instead of just basically telling their customers to F*** off.
[deleted post]Totally agree with you....;)
iPhone is too expensive, it has the same specifications that you can find on other phones for a cheaper price
"My Nokia e55 was hardly any better - it crashed 5-6 times a day and thats with the latest software - what a pile of crap - nokia's that is!" --> your lucky it was nokia. at least someone from nokia did not blamed you or told you your doing it the wrong way
Anonymous, 25 Jun 2010Just like the Iphone, my Nokia 5800 also has its antenna on the bottom.(Not sure left or right... morethe problem of the ip4 is that even if you just hold it.it still loses signal.rgarding ur 5800 who would wanna hold there handset that tight.?
hy guys i told ya yesterday it´s not a big deal just wait patiently for iphone 5 for great signal reception (doesn´t matter how would u hold it).. and some magical glass will be added for more strengthen... don´t over reacted...

Tried this on my phone, making a call with left hand is no problem and there is no signal degradation.
However if I hold the bottom of the phone with both hand and apply pressure the signal goes down slightly.]
If I crush it harder and harder, the signal went down to about 3 bars.
However when I hold it normally again with my left hand, full signal returns..
Lol, 25 Jun 2010Really?? I have E55 and it is very good. It crashes rarely. You probably have a defected phone... moreWell this is the second handset i had...my first one died completely and was replaced by nokia.
that was working fine until I updated to the latest software and they phone is very bad - it crashes usually when writing a text message - it often means I need to take the battery out to restart the phone.
Annoying to say the least
Whoever holds the phone with their left hands while texting will be screwed.
Whoever is left handed will also be screwed.
Its funny just tried the this with the 3gs and it does the same

I am a Mac (I am using a Mac) & an Apple fan. This time it seems that the engineering team of Apple has made a blunder.
When Steve Jobs first showed the world the antenna arrangement of iPhone 4, I didn't really notice that's a design flaw. But when the reception problem of iPhone 4 rapidly increases in number, I remember one thing:
Quote from Nokia 5800 XpressMusic manual:
Your device may have internal and external antennas. Avoid touching the antenna area unnecessarily while the antenna is transmitting or receiving. Contact with antennas affects the communication quality and may cause a higher power level during operation and may reduce the battery life.
How come Apple would make the antennas as part of the phone edges which contact directly to the users' hands? As human hands is conductive, which will probably short the circuit between the antenna which is responsible for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and the one that is responsible for UMTS & GSM. Even a key will short the circuit as you can see some video in YouTube concerning the iPhone 4 reception problem.
On balance, use a protective case or avoid use your left hand when making calls.
wow, agian, iphone's first with this technology. i heard that they made their antenna external so if you'll be out there on a place where theres no signal, you can use your Rabbit antenna on your new iphone..
red spot dispeared after 4days of use but the signal weakness is realy annoying, I should have bought an x10 or n900 instead....... =(
another innovation from apple: rules on how to hold your handset.. thats just plain stupid steve...
hahahaha i think there would be another new accessories comes from apple- the "MAGIC HANDSET"
iphones users dont care about the faults
as long as there are many apps and games in the app store:)
