And yet HTC is releasing this after the Samount S7 series. Anyone who wished for a smartphone probably got it already given all the Samsung goodies that were being added as a bonus if your purchased the phone. I am still waiting patiently but really hope they deliver on thear hype and gives us something worthy. But the M9 last year and returned it days later due to the onscreen buttons that reduced the screen real estate to 4.6. And the camera was aweful. Please HTC don't disappoint

Furthermore it is the camera sensor, software and lens that is of primary importance here. CPU and GPU makes the speed possible and that performace capability has been enough since the Snap 808
Your comment is baseless.
Why am i in disbelief? Oh wait, because HTC always had a bad camera. M7's were all defective, M8's equally terrible, but at least no purple tint anymore and M9 was slightly better, but still quite bad compared to anyone else. The A9 is fine, but...

Well...HTC is being a bit quick with this statement. If they won't deliver, they will "pay" for that smack talk with a lot of hate. Standing by...I want to see what they can bring to the table.
AnonD-500788, 06 Apr 2016uh, cmon, no more teasers, just release the d@Mn foneAlmost there. I see 6 days too long, can't wait.

Those look absolutely horrible! No reason to deny that, also M7 and M8 both were nowhere near rival devices in terms of photo quality.

Anonymous, 07 Apr 2016Bad troll HTC just close down already, you've already burnt way too many people with your lies... moreWhy did i see you badmouthing every htc article everywhere. Its not even released yet and you already badmouthing it.
i hope this camera hype isn't something like it was with their ultrapixels. still, this is good for the smartphone market. the huawei p8 was impressive on paper, too. we should be in for a good deal of diversity this year. of course, what i really want to see is the note 6, but that's months away.
AnonD-249419, 07 Apr 2016Poor htc. If htc dies, innovation and brilliant ideas dies with them. Htc is the most gifted c... moreI blame HTCs marketing.
They have done a terrible job in advertising and their product display in most stores is an afterthought.
I was in Thailand a couple years ago and saw one of HTCs stores and I stopped in to take a look. It was quite sad. They only had 3 working phone models, the accessory display was 1/2 empty. No product information sheets and the display countertops were dull and had many scratches in them.
Being Quietly Brilliant is not the way to build product and brand awareness jn the highly competitive smartphone business. You have to spend the money like other brands to get your name in the minf of the consumer.
HTC needs to change how they market their product of I am afraid they very well may close shop. That would be a shame because they are the only mft that openly provides the unlocker with instructions and ROM source code in their developer web site allowing you to create custom ROM images.
Ome additional comment. Both HTC and Sony are currently struggling, with Sony already saying they will shut their phone division if they dont turn a profit this year. I believe part of their problem is their release cycle is off. They lag releasing new models after MWC. They either need to move up their release by a month or move it back toward the end of the year to be just before the iphone in my opinion.
Tux, 06 Apr 2016I bet this fails badly. The last time this happened, we them bleating on about their 'Ultrapix... moreAgreed. They do make good hardware but there's always some problem with their cameras, sadly. They even produced diagrams on how their "ultrapixels" will be better than the 808 PureView camera, and even worse, some people believed them. Then they were actually compared and of course HTC lied...
Pathetic way to cover the fact that they will be late to the game, all the other major players released their flagships.
AnonD-480179, 07 Apr 2016C'mon people!!!! There is no way HTC messes this phone up.

If memory serves correct, the ultrapixel quality on the M8 was no match for the other flagships of the day. This led HTC to drop ultrapixel on the main camera on the M9.
I generally like HTC phones. But the cameras on tbe M series have fallen short in the past and Samaung and LG have really upped their game this year. Also, we still havent seen what Sony is going to bring.
Making the claim the did in the teaser is quite bols. Next week we will see if HTC lives up to its claim.
