Windows is currently better than Android when it comes to actually using your phone for work and daily usage. Android is not even optimized for phone usage, and thus, it crashed or restarts a few times a week or month. Not to mention the productivity and security levels a Windows phone offers. And the advanced UI design.
Android is just for fun and playing games, and maybe check some emails now and then, but nothing serious. The UI is clunky, fonts are not designed for mobile use, basic apps have limited features, and there's no clear design language on the UI. There are just UI elements copied from Windows/iOS.
So how would a large screen bring benefits when the OS will display the smallest text as 7-9 mm tall and have all buttons look huge? Yeah...

I have lately owned 2 windows phones and for anything other than texting and calling they are junk , apps are rubbish and designed for very low end phones with low res screens. Never again , Windows phone is and has been dying for a while now...
don't understand commenters so surprised .. what u haven't seen P8 max ? been a year out .. where u all living on mars?
Fantastic. I just bought the Lenovo phab plus 6.8 and going back to something smaller is impossible. I am very happy with it but I want more speed & ram and also to be dual sim full active. For that reason P9 Max 6.9" will be a good replacement.
I hope to make a european version that support band 20 (800 Mhz) and also wo have the newest cpu kyrin 955 plus to be dual sim full active.
Thanks all !!!
I am very happy with that P9 Max 6.9" Because it will be a good replacement for this year.

So Android on a big screen. What a waste of hardware. All the potential stuff you could do on a large screen - gone.
This needs Windows 10 (mobile) on it, and not Android which is designed for screens no larger than 4.5 inches.
Basically all this screen real-estate will be used as inefficiently as possible.
either some the leak info are incorrect or the folks at huawei gone mad, i mean where is the 12 MP Leica dual lenses ... ppl r not gonna Leica that ... let's wait and see.

AC, 14 Apr 2016I had wanted the P8 Max, as a secondary device, just because of the crazy screen to body ratio... moreI'd like this too... Looking to replace Sony Xperia Z Ultra... I'd be entirely satisfied with 1080p.. But I'd have hoped for Kirin 955 4gb ram and 64gb storage like the P9 plus.
1080p screen ? 3gb ram? 1k $us?
i own the powerful motorola-google nexus 6: 3GB ram, 2k screen, 250$us, stereo speakers, android 6+.... :-P
I had wanted the P8 Max, as a secondary device, just because of the crazy screen to body ratio. Unfortunately, it didn't have the T-Mobile LTE bands. I hope the P9 Max, if Huawei does release it, has the same great screen to body ratio as they had on the P8 Max (or even how they pulled the Mate 7 and Mate 8 off). I've been more than happy with the Kirin 950 processor in the Mate 8, so I'm sure it'll be more than enough for me on a P9 Max. I don't even mind it "only" being 1080p. I just hope they don't wait too long to release it, if they intend on doing so.
