Anonymous, 03 Jul 2010im pretty sure it more of a case of third party company UIs arent welcome, like SenseUI etc me... moreit WONT suck, id rather have an updated phone (x10) than be waiting, and waiting, and waiting for almost a blasted year for a lil jump to a 2.1é2.1 hybrid. now there saying 3.0 is going to be out before i even get that update - ffs, cant SE do anything right...

By deploying 3rd party UIs, manufacturers are creating a bad image for Android.

Look at the X10, I believe, which still has Android 1.6, just because manufacturers need to port the crapware UI before, and that takes a long long time, or maybe just "never".

What matter is the the phone dimensions not the screen dimensions. For instance, a SE Xperia 10 with a 4-inches-screen is almost the same size as the iPhone 3GS (iPhone 4 is a little bit smaller) which has a 3.5-inches-screen

There is something I dont get. Android is supposed to be completely open source. The only way Google can stop me from making a custom UI is if they make certain parts of the app closed source, which they cant coz it runs the linux kernel. So I just don't get how there won't be any more custom UIs.
