the only good thing abt ms phones is that continuum feature
which would be amazing if it was there on android as well
I will ditch my Windows phone. Very poor service by Windows team. Dropped so many mail to Windows customer service representative, but not a single reply I ever get.
Premium price and half baked OS, happy with a Nexus 6p. I wish wp10 would have been better and a competitor to others.
as long as they are sticking with Qualcomm shi... processors instead of Intel's this will happen again and again,
they must use intel mobile processors so you could benefit from full windows and full desktop programs on your devices,
they wasted a lot of time, a lot of time on a stup... "windows "mobile"" thing while they could bring desktop class performance and programs to mobiles years ago.
they wasted time, they lost the game.
what is windows mobile? an undeveloped OS which could be as good as android in next years.so what's the use of another mobile OS which is exactly like another one.
they must bring full desktop class mobiles with full OS with a simulator which can run ALL apks like we do now with programs like Bluestacks ,etc.
why can't they understand this simple task.
they can sell their devices with the current OS or a simple desktop version which carries less price tag. but the device must be ready for a full windows if the user wants to buy and install a full version like home or pro.oh i have bought a "windows mobile" which can never have a a full windows.how stu... that sounds? but that's true.
the Continuum thing is good but then again if i could use a large display at a time i could use my laptop as well.oh the remote desktop?? read this:
"But Remote Desktop requires your PC to have its own Internet-accessible IP address if youÂÂ’re going to use it, well, remotely, an unlikely scenario for most typical users. Unless of course youÂÂ’re going to use it around the house".
now they have spent much time and money on windows mobile which means they won't abandon all that and we will ""never"" see a full windows os on mobile,
so goodbye microsoft mobiles, no body cares.i'm done waiting and wasting time for windows mobile to get better.
and i'm not an android fan
i am using my windows tablet which i already installed windows 10 pro 64bit on it with no problem and is my pc everywhere which doesn't need anything to be a real PC and it runs anything from my desktop app.
as simple as that.
Just give up already Microsoft. The only way I'd see this working is if the Surface Phone will have a laptop/desktop dock sporting at least Core M series CPUs with FULL Windows 10 functionality. But guess what? Storage is still expensive and it'll never work in the short run.
Good luck with that.
Payback is a biittcchh. Microsoft dig their own grave by building sub par devices to compete in the smartphone market. Nokia was a company with vision. Every time when they launched a handset, There was some technology, some advanced features for the users. Those were the glorious days. The megapixel concept, carl zeiss lens, FM and music player, GPS, Xenon flash, Utilities,Organizers, Browsers, gaming platforms to name a few. All were worth considering their product line. They tend to keep their customers happy simply by knowing the market. Nokia was the dad of the smartphones. Ever since Samsung and Apple came, they monopolized everything bringing almost few changes in every other handset. Their app stores are great, but technologies and features are not going through much changes. It is the same design and features when there is a new handset. Their marketing strategy has been like this, A better processor with less battery capacity- company spokesman explanation: well the better the processor needs less the battery power. Samsungs and Apple's Biometric fingerprint sensor stuffs like that. Who needs them seriously? Any IT security guy knows the gimmicks behind these technologies. why don't samsung provide removable batteries, why don't Apple provide expanadable storage? These companies want their customers to go on with their new products every time. From Nokia 3310 to N82, I saw the company grow. They really cared for their customers. Nokia 6600, 6233, N5800, N73, N82 etc What awesome phones they were in those days. The people who used them will truly know what I am talking about. I own a Nokia lumia 1520 now. The recent upgrade to WIN 10 ruined my phone. MS has a very bad customer service. Be it a Samsung, apple or MS, for me a solid handset with features that are worth matters a lot. I will wait for the Nokia's come back in 2017.
Actually, Win 10 for phones is elegant, snappy, logical, secure OS and doesn't need PC hardware to run smoothly. Some users will never go back to unsecure lagdroid. Like me. I was using Android for 2 years, on then flagship Xperia Z. Those were horrible years. Android experience is just hypefor teenagers and kids, nothing more. Windows Phone is for adults. IF i move from Windows Phone, it will be foward: to Tizen or Sailfish. But never ever again disaster named Lagdroid. Even Symbian Belle is smoother and more developed compared to Android L.
Why do the Nokia fanboys appear any every MS thread??
Nokia is compketely irrelevant and will never be able to compete again, thats why they chose an exclusive deal with MS in the first place, because compete on the same OS with anyone, neither as costeffectiveness, nor as hardware development, the only thing they got was the prestige hype for beeing the most expensive ones, but now Apple gots it and will never let it go!
As MS, they are suffering from one thing alone, they have a sweet spot on restrictiveness/ performance, but they fail miserably on third party app support, there simply are not enough apps and games to keep you going, they need to invest more at sponsoring app and game devs, like the do with the xbox1
It'd be even lower if there weren't for hippies with their "Android is laggy and lacking in features" attitude.
I think MS needs to almost hit rock bottom in order to change their marketing and development strategies for Windows phones.
I mean... Everyone started copying their flat design UI and most of their interface design language, and now everyone's focused on catching up to Windows phone's reliability. (no restarts needed, no factory resets needed, no slow downs, no lag; everything just works like day one, when you just peeled the protective foil from the screen)
If Android would not be a total mess or if iOS would focus more on productivity features rather than on protecting technology-illiterate people from getting malware or losing their nude selfies, then I would go for one of the two. But unfortunately they don't, so the best OS I can get at the moment is Windows.
And yeah, I've used Android for 1.5 years on a mid-high range device and iOS for about 6 months (plus BBOS for 2 years and Symbian before all these operating systems were released) and I can wholeheartedly say that Android is (currently) the worst OS out there.
It's true that it's popular, but that has nothing to do with the quality it delivers. Most popular cars/devices are not the best cars/devices out there.
Anonymous, 22 Apr 2016Release more overpriced crap with undeveloped OS and you will sell more, M$.That is true. Prices are always too much.
Over price with outdated hardware. That is one of the big reason for failure.
I just bought a Lumia 950XL after owning a Nexus 5 for 1.5 years. I was bored of how stable and good Android is. Also, i got really mad at google maps navigation, it sucks.
So much hate... If ever Nokia come back on mobile msft will profit on it. Please do understand Android is the life saver of Windows Mobile, zero marketing but they still sold 2.x million units. In my opinion msft wants OEM to market W10M so they can use there profit on Android to develop W10M and cover there losses. My remarks Windows Mobile will stay as long as Android sells well.
2.3million is a good number it it was a small company. Some hardware manufacturers sell less products but provide good support. In case of Microsoft, it is a big company any people expect big from it.
That's a new record !!! With all fantastic security, good display, flagship specs...950 and 950Xl did not get the right pricing !!! MS going to be like this for some time, until they come up with their unlikely Surface Pro Phones, if any!
