It always the compact body that matters.
I am using Note 5 and its the best handling/compact device in its category....5.7"
I even want Note 6 with 6" screen and 4000 MAh battery atleast...
Just stick with =5" for a smartphone, and name other devices as phablet, compact phablet etc.
AnonD-19153, 24 Apr 20165" With screen to body ratio of 74% or more So you want on-screen buttons?
For me , the minimum size of screen should be 5.5" or more , below that I can't use it...!
Now before replying to my comment , let me tell u that my hands are very big , i need large Phablets , small phones just slide out of my hands , i can properly grip large phones...so its my personal problem...!
Everyone has their own opinion...!
I had a nexus 5 and now I have Htc one m8. Both have a 5 inch screen but handling the nexus was much better due to the screen to body ratio. M8 feels 5.5in because of the dual front speakers and the HTC branding bar. M8 is also 30% heavier. But I prefer those speakers and metal any day over N5

AnonD-482637, 24 Apr 2016It is not about the screen size, it is a matter of screen to body ratio, and the handset dimensionExactly what I was thinking
It is not about the screen size, it is a matter of screen to body ratio, and the handset dimension
Well at first i liked big screens but then i tried Samsung galaxy note 3 in shop and it was too big for carrying in pants so i choosen LG G2 so my ideal would be ~5.1 , but im willing too try big phone like note series again and see if size would work for me now.
4.7" - 5" is the sweet spot for me. Still pocketable and large enough to use the on-screen keyboard. Bigger than that requires a holster (acceptable at almost any occasion with a suit) or an insurance when you put it in your breast pocket/jeans.
