Microsoft, many years have I wait for you to become one of the greatest mobile platform, unfortunately you didn't. you become more and more unreliable and making a false statement of hope. Ive been waiting and waiting and now im tired. goodbye Microsoft mobile.
I don't trust any word coming from microsoft. Too many lies and promises have been spoken.
Microsoft, you cannot price exorbitantly for your devices with mediocre specs at least in India. You know the trend very well. Think over it.
I have mixed feelings really.
It's quite sad and pathetic that a company the size and stature of MS feel they have to make a statement like this. They simply refuse to listen to customers & I feel bad for those who have invested in their devices.
That said - competition is always good for the consumer in the long run. I hope they get their act together, start making some rational / logical real-world-use based decisions about their OS & recognise that their closed eco-system approach is never going to work. Hopefully some day, if they can bring themselves to make real change, it will generate some excitement so that app makers can start to get excited about developing for them again.
Unfortunately, from historical evidence, MS always manage to find a way to spectacularly mess things up, so I'm not holding my breath!
Hopefully they can do something before Google start making x86 software compatible OS's & they get swallowed up by the competition for good. That wouldn't be a fitting way to end it for a company that has served the PC market well for so long.
Good luck MS! :S
uninstall your windows os right now on your pc's change it with android os as simple as that. For you to get out to the ecosystem that you do not like.
pika2000, 27 Apr 2016I'm not holding my breath. Fool me once, shame on me. My Lumia 710 got no updates, and my HTC ... moreof course a weak phone won't get updates! tell me, did the galaxy note (first generation) get a marshmallow update? of course it didn't!!
What great software service from Microsoft,
meant you can use Lumia for many years~
This was the same words of the then nokia ceo,
We would continue to support our home grown os on our nokia smartphones.
I a year the company exited.
I'm not holding my breath. Fool me once, shame on me. My Lumia 710 got no updates, and my HTC 8X got no updates either.
Windows 10 at the moment is the worst of both worlds. The ecosystem lacks apps, and updates are not necessarily guaranteed.
So why not just get Android then? More apps, more variety and selections of devices, and healthy mod community for custom ROM.
Microsoft has positioned Windows Phone as corporate phones, not as consumer phones, which is okay. For consumers, much better options out there.
This is exactly what they said about Windows RT. Then they dumped it.
Worldwide Smartphone Sales to End Users by O.S. in 4Q-2015
1. Android 80.7%
2. iOS 17.7%
3. Windows 1.1%
3 things to make microsoft better..1 remove the ugly looking and messy tiles interface..2 transfer android app to its app store..3 stop using the snapdragon 2**series crap.
Of course they're not gonna say that they plan to drop their OS platform in the future. That would be a death sentence like what Stephen Elop did with symbian.
