xman, 12 Jul 2010required carrier subsidies are not a great deal. a) being stuck with a single device for ... moreThis front facing camera seems to be a big deal to everyone but the fact is, NO US carriers support video conferencing and even if they did, NONE of them have the Uplink bandwidth (as of now) for it to even work. As far as I know, T-Mobile is the only carrier that may have enough bandwidth at the end of the year with they finish launching HSPA+. And yes, all carriers will put their own touch to the phone, but that is what makes it a T-Mobile/ATT phone. No different than buying a sony or toshiba computer.

a) being stuck with a single device for 2 years
b) paying a premium for talk and data charges
c) dealing with arrogant customer service rates existing customers as unimportant
d) early termination fees
e) only supporting devices that they provide
f) having good products destroyed by provider "upgrades" to software
g) having the PC interface software deleted or stripped of most important features.

niether T-mobile nor ATT are providing a galaxy S. it's been "optimized" with such non-eassential items like front facing camera being removed. I'm sure there will be some other unpleasant suprises in category f and g.

The iphone4 is nice but you are in the wrong commenting section. This is for T-mobile Samsung Galaxy S or Vibrant. I for one might consider this beast.

I've waited ages to Samsung launch an exptional Android phone and here it comes...
