Good luck with that Moto :S
I prefer an all rounder thanks very much.

As for brightness that depends on the model but OLEDs can easily be as bright as LCD.

I definitely believe that they should have put it on the back dimple but if they're going to do the modular backplate expansion thing, that would be much harder without a larger middle hole in all the new backs they've got going on. LG just developed a buttonless fingerprint sensor that can accurately scan through up to 0.3mm of glass. If the 2017 moto x has that then I can see it meeting the aesthetics that fans seem to be demanding and still do the backplate modular thing they've got going on.
crapple, 11 May 2016and not to forget its quad HD screen :PI DID forget about that! Good lord. This thing is gonna have worse battery life than my Nexus 5.
Anonymous, 11 May 2016Not necessarily. Remember Moto X Force/Droid Turbo 2, Moto Maxx/Droid Turbo or Moto X Play/Dro... moreYes that is what Motorola has to understand .. Look at all their major devices from Moto razr, to motorola atrix to moto X .... all their important line ups have terrible battery life.
I like it. I feel like this could be a fantastic device.. Moto is great and the finger sensor on front is ideal. I hade the nexus 5x and I have also had many front facers. the iphone 6, the HTC a9 and now the HTC 10 and I rather it be on front.. I don't like the back placement.
Why the hell are they sacrificing battery capacity for a phone 5.2" thin??? Is Motorola loosing it's marbles?
Battery capacity and stamina is a Motorola strength..why are they abandoning all that a super thin phone.
I will take a little girth 8"-10" if that means I get a huge battery as trade of.
Spark, 11 May 2016The only logical reason for the fingerprint sensor on the front is the modularity of the phone... moreThere is another logical reason. If the device is lying flat on a desk you can easily unlock it without picking the phone up.
Love the shatter shield. But 2600mAh on an Android smartphone with a 5.5" screen? That's a red flag if I've ever seen one.

AnonD-514461, 11 May 2016Amoled is always better for less power consumption and better battery...OLED provides better contrast because black unused pixels remain turned off. Also better saturation while giving more battery life.
But brightness does suffer a lot (particularly when it comes to direct sunlight). Also OLED might burn in.

That what was essentially nagging me about Moto. High-End Flagship have bad battery life whereas the midrangers are packed with 3500+ mAh?
Alternative to Moto: Nexus.
well at least lenovo is not messing up with all of motorola's legacy ... they are still giving a really really bad battery which motorola has been doing for centuries.
Motorola .... the brand u remember when u hear "Worst battery life".

That fingerprint scanner looks ugly below the screen. I guess it could be better on the back, because Motorola hasn't had capacitive buttons years ago...please Motorola™ don't do more mistakes....
