Wow it seems the SD652 and SD650 have the same cpu performance as SD810 and SD808 but but in GPU dept its performace is on par/slightly better than with 2/3 year old flagships(SD 801/800) and Sony priced it at 600 euros.Galaxy s7 is just 20 euros more and its a better smartphone in all department.....................................by a long distance. It dosen't have a standout feature to justify that price.Even HTC comes with a better Audio experience than any widely available Flagships.Samsung is the king of android flagships again as it was last year.
I'm dissapointed in Sony to be honest a 600 euro phone with a mid-range processor you could get a s6 for a lower price and get double if not triple the performence.
This equals to 4 redmi note 3......? I prefer xiaomi... Damn Sony becoming htc on the pricing
Raw power-wise, it's doing good. Personally, it's enough for my usage. I still like the design. Anyone got a clue on why they refrained waterproofing and stick with that price? I mean it's like one of their phone signatures(IPxx certified) aside from the camera.. until this.
by the looks it does not look premium at all. looks just like samsung galaxy with a sony logo.and x premium will be expensive.
it would have been better if they sticked to their z-series lineups. z-series were awesome! this will fail.
AnonD-404798, 15 May 2016then quote those words in article ! 510 beats 430 ? hahahaha ,first check out info on those GP... moreAgain, if you know how to read between the lines, the objective of this writer is to compare this device with flagships because of its price.
Hence, as consumers, we can take a look of how it is faring against other flagships (both previous and current) based on those benchmarks given that we are paying for the same price range.
We know you are angry about why it should be compared against high end devices when it is clear that the specs are mid-ranged but this IS the objective of the writer - to let consumers know if what we're about to pay is worth it.
[deleted post]The writer DID made the expectation that this IS a mid-range device. However, he DID mention (if you know how to read between the lines) that, because of it's price, this device is categorized as premium and therefore should be avoided for its midrange specs.
So basically the Xperia X beats other midrangers, interesting. But that price though, one could equally get an S6 or Z5 on that. Well, hope I can afford the X performance(If it comes to India that is)
AnonD-260703, 15 May 2016yeah sorry for any harsh words. but I really wanted to see sony do like it used to be. the Z l... moreYeah. They used to be waterproof phones with great battery, a clean simplistic design, good cameras.
It looks like they're being left behind though. Probably because they abandoned some less important flagship features this year like display and 4k recording, which would have been fine if it meant the price was at least lower. But no, even their mid ranges are too expensive, you could get a galaxy s7 for that price on eBay.
AnonD-404798, 15 May 2016I didn't compare it to a windows phone I just compared pricing in regard which chipset phone u... moreyeah sorry for any harsh words. but I really wanted to see sony do like it used to be. the Z lines is successful I thought but it comes to the end now. I really shocked and hope sony will do much better in future and wish it's not too late. i think i like the thin side bezel on XA and it should be on every X series phone. that design and side bezel thickness are the real future.
The chipset is impressive for a midrange, but in the end its too expensive. It doesn't quite match up to last years phones and all the phones that use the chipset are going to be more expensive than last years phones.
Mid ranged phones are for the most part quite pointless, you should just buy last years flagship. These phones usually cut corners here and there too.
On the other hand the SD810 had its problems, and some people are Samsung haters so they wouldn't get the galaxy s6. There is always the g4 or moto x style that uses sd808 though, it should perform the same as the SD652, but maybe slightly worse. The z5 premium had good heat cooling even with the sd810 so that's a good choice.
AnonD-404798, 15 May 2016I didn't compare it to a windows phone I just compared pricing in regard which chipset phone u... moreEven if you only compare the chipset used but windows phone is actually an exceptional. Windows phone with 2xx Snapdragon still runs smoother with any midrange phones with 6xx (615-617, at least). His point is, it's not invalid to compare a chipset used on a windows phones.
