Are they going to release a 5" version that isn't completely gimped? I can't be the only one looking for a decent 5" phone out there.
gnza, 17 May 20163rd Gen Moto G - 13MP main camera 4th Gen Moto G Play - 8MP main cameraThanks for clearing that up.
Tomothy, 17 May 2016How is the camera downgraded? 3rd Gen Moto G - 13MP main camera
4th Gen Moto G Play - 8MP main camera
mir, 17 May 2016So why buy this when its essentially the same as the outgoing model? Not to mention it will be... moreActually it is not same. The rear camera is downgraded from G3. So it is a slightly inferior version of the outgoing model. I guess it will be priced accordingly. One thing Lenovo/Moto has traditionally done right is - Pricing. So if this has right price tag of say INR 8000, it will still have meaning to exist. Anything higher than that, it is dead on arrival.
They should rename it to moto e because it will be to confusing for the everyday person
So why buy this when its essentially the same as the outgoing model? Not to mention it will be a bit more expensive since its newly released...
worse camera, not waterproof.. unless this thing is around $120 it makes no sense.. just pick up a moto g3.. bye bye moto.. you killed the G line this generation!
Seriously? 2016 and we are still stuck at micro usb and it isnt even 3.1
This phone's been made redundant before it even goes on sale. For one thing, the Moto 3rd gen still looks WAY better than this, and it's cheaper, and it's IP68 certfied instead of just "splash proof" and people are gonna look towards buying the "Lenovo Moto G4" instead. And before you say a word about software updates, there's a high chance that this thing won't even receive any updates, considering it's a rehash - and a horrible one at that.
DonAlduck, 17 May 2016If the G4 Play will be sold for a descent price, they'll maybe earn some money, but for the ot... moreI totally agree with u man...firstly they gave bullshit reasons that they were unable to imolement the sensor on the back due to waterproofing...but they are nit even giving waterresistance in moto g4plus....i hate the design and even the thing that the front fingerprint scanner cannot act as a home button
If the G4 Play will be sold for a descent price, they'll maybe earn some money, but for the other 2 devices they just released...Lenovo is killing the Moto name. Well, they kinda already did...
Compare G4 play with the G (3rd Gen) and you won't see noticeable changes on the inside...
PS: IMO the G series are going in a wrong direction, but I'm looking forward to see how many devices they're going to sell, and how much profit they're going to make.
