So looking at overall figures, it does seem that all complaints are from the US, but proportionally its pretty much the same. I'm surprised that its OK on Vodafone, imo they have the worst signal here. O2 has the best signal by far and I have tried the iphone 4 in several O2 shops, all of which (no joke - all - about 10 now) I have tried holding normally (I am left handed mind) and all of which lost all signal within 30 - 120 seconds. Not encouraging.
the hell that's a total crap
i have the N97 mini, i tried what Steven Jobs is claiming,, negative - negative ... signal didn't change at all..

apple had kick iSteve butt in their early day, when iSteve fight with John Sculley. but then, apple bought OS X, and iSteve were back.
Darn, i wish Apple bought BeOS and got JLG on board instead of that iSteve.
This Apple vs. non-apple fight might seems almost ended, but in reality, this is only the beginning.
Anyone here see the ATT vs. Apple duel and think that verizon is so lucky not to have iphone on their arm?
Anyway, seeing how childish apple were, i think that all of us here that still can think with a straight mind and have not purchase any iTunes music (thus have brain intact because never been iDozeee), should stay away from apple product.
Don't let them zombinise you.

Give us some proof, links to sites that are suggesting that this phone is being returned as fast as it was bought. So far all we got is word from SJ that 1.7% have returned their hand sets.
1.7% of well over 3 Million is hardly a crisis, this is a really hot topic at the moment, the media are all over this and if there was any news of a mass return for refunds it would have made the headlines.
1.7% of 3 Million works out to just 30 000 phones returned, that's the same number of phones Nokia, Sumsung and the likes sell in a week when they release a phone.
Iphone4 white will probably ship round about the same time as Nokia N8 this will be the battle of all battles, this is where we gonna find out whether antennagate has really hurt Apple.
Anonymous, 22 Jul 2010The day of Nokia dying has finally started. 40% drop!:
http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/22/nok... moreDude, that 40% drop is on the profit..
In fact, its total number of devices and smartphones both increased quite a bit.
This drop is due the the phones now becoming less expensive!
Anyway, compared to those huge device sales figures, the Apple's device sales are all but even significant!
i can't imagine why apple company hired mr. steve? this guy is unprofessional, instead of solving the problem on their device he keeps on pointing his finger to other mobile company. Mr. steve be professional and start to find solution on your iphone.

Anonymous, 22 Jul 2010I am in the UK, read my post below!Fair enough, if you are losing calls and getting no signal, then you are fully entitled to send your iphone back.
What is strange though, is that I've spoken to a couple of people about the issue and they have actually shown me that the iphone 4 DOESN'T lose bars. Both are on Vodafone. Also, just about every complaint is from people on AT&T. I don't think it's simply a case of the iphone Antenna being too weak, I think it also depends on coverage in your area too.

Come on GSM Arena, where is the report on Nokia's 40% slump in profits? You were quick enough to report on Apple recently.
Is it too late for Nokia and the N8?

ReVan, 22 Jul 2010It's a problem with every phone on an AT&T 3G network. Why don't they demo it on a 2G netw... moreI was suggesting that there was a problem with AT&T and it's spotty coverage, but none of the haters were interested.
It's funny how there are hardly any complaints from UK customers, or German. AT&T is hardly the best operator in the world to say the best, but the hater's replies are simply, "but they are the only network", like the rest of the world doesn't matter.

If there was a signal problem I wished that Steve would give some money back to the customers. Now I was wondering what was the point of issuing a warrrant to break into that Oriental's guy place and to confiscate his computers and the "lost" Iphone 4 prototype.
option is option.Decision is decision. It has been made for you.Try to save your back now.come on apple!!!!what is your problem????it's your faulty design.why accusing others???Nokia,Samsung,Sony Ericsson,Motorolla are the pioneer of the cellular technology. They know better than you.Respect them if you really want to stay in the market.and steve jobs in every release u have a major problem.why???Your touch technology is the best no one doubts about that.but your others department not the best in the class.Dropping signal is your particular problem. You have to make them alright if you want to stay in the market.Making profit for two years does not guarantee you to stay in the market for a decades like others.
It's a problem with every phone on an AT&T 3G network. Why don't they demo it on a 2G network and see if it happens.
I guess the problem lies with AT&T and not the cellphones.
if looking @ the source, check the bars on all the phone's
Apple never has full reception??? not even with the revolutionary new outer antenna...
Beside that, you can't compare "bars"
