To those unable to replicate Apple's "extensive" and "comprehensive" testing of other phone's reception, please do check for the fine prints and / or disclaimers, which will provide users with the guidance on how to replicate the "event". You may find meaningful recommendations such as, please locate yourself in a difficult to reach location such as a toilet, or please go into the lowest level of a basement carpark to test.
Anonymous, 22 Jul 2010A Little childish perhaps, but it amazes me how the nokia fans jump on the I hate jobs bandwag... moreA problem we wasn't aware of??? that's cause there wasn't a problem until apple came along with their ' perfect ' phone, I've worked for a massive mobile retailer for a while and must of sold thousands of mobiles from every range and maker and I have never ever told a customer that they where holding their phone wrong or the wrong way, there has even been a few phones i.e. the samsung f210 that even had a sticker saying the GSM antenna is at the top of the back of the phone, don't cover with your hand during a phone call other wise it will effect the signal, they didn't release videos slating other phones or the manufactures....
The day of Nokia dying has finally started. 40% drop!:
LOL! LOL! LOL! :))
Been trying to squeeze the life out of girl friends Iphone 4 and no signal drops over here. We must have good skin over here.
No it doesn't happen to my 5800 which has antenna at the same place even if I cover it with my bith hands!! Apple is faking!!!
I've been using the n97 mini for awhile now :X I'm in Malaysia btw and I tried doing the death grip thingy on my n97 mini and the bar went down like, a bar? :) Apple seems really childish right now! hehe. ps: never had problems holding my phone or whatever not hehe
how did stevy manage to do that. i have tried much butfail to achieve this type of attenuation?
apple takes 1 year to design a single new phone still it is not flawless. stevy please dont compare yourself to the mobile giants nokia and sony ericsson.
cruise, 22 Jul 2010I think Steve did a photoshop on the the signal bars of the nokia picture so that it looks li... morei think apple might use a signal jammer or signal blocker to cheat us.
i think this time we really need a 3rd party to do the test.
iphone4 vs. nokia vs. moto vs. samsung vs. lg vs sonyericsson vs. zte vs. huawei
Steve Job done this experiment in his house thats why the signal is so weak....as we all know steve job live in a cave.....that could be the reason why he never heard of 3g call in the 21st century....
I have the N97 Mini and the only time it lost singal was when Steve Jobs put it up his ass. Sorry Steve but your using it wrong.
hahah. i just tried squeezing my nokia n97 mini & nothing happened. i honestly tried different ways to squeeze and cover parts of the phone. this is pretty BS. ahahhahaha
This is SQUEEZING.. NOT gripping.. Hence the title.. The edge of his fingers are turning red already.. lol
tgm91, 22 Jul 20101. Who the fu_ck hold that way a phone when talking ? 2. N97 was about 500$ ... when iPhone 4... moreI think Steve did a photoshop on the the signal bars of the nokia picture so that it looks like Nokia lost a few bars.
1. Who the fu_ck hold that way a phone when talking ?
2. N97 was about 500$ ... when iPhone 4 is 1000$
3. From the time when it was released until now, at least someone should had this problem, but no, after 2-3 years Apple find excuses...
4. There is 3.5G .... Is very easy to lose the signal when you are in low coverage zone ... Why they did't test with GSM ? ... Apple's iPhone 4 fails with all connections (GSM, 3G)
5. The signal wasn't lost complete, unlike iPhone 4's "No service"
how an earth apple's trying to ruin others attention about other cellphones and yet every one buys its phone
GSMArena deleted my post. A url of the video of a guy demonstrating his 'untampered' N97 mini.. there's something fishy going on...
Its strange why Steve Jobs would only like to pick on the faults of other mobiles when his Iphone is the only one which drops calls. Other mobiles would have a signal problem but never drops calls. Well whats done is done and a product recall would be a bad option. So the bumper cases should be given free for all customers who has bought it.I reckon Steve knew that this was a fault but the deadline was coming close on selling the phones so he decided to put it on the market none the less and then act naive afterwards. Typical ploy for business men.
Anonymous, 22 Jul 2010Also I would very much like to know why Apple did not attack Nokia along with the other brands... moreNo, because its hard to find a Nokia phone with loosing signal. Clearly they have spent hours to find a Nokia phone with less signal reception compare to other Nokia phones..
