Dimi, 21 Jul 2010Point is that instead of finding a way to fix their problem Apple try to show us that everybod... moreWell sir it's because there's no fix to this problem yet. As Steve said, attenuation is a challenge in the mobile phone industry, and that the whole industry is working hard to improve in resolving this issue. The ip4 has been accused by the media to be the only phone with this issue. That is why Apple provided proof that the media is wrong. That is why you are seeing this video.
[deleted post]for give him....he is just a rookie....he dont even heard about a 3g call before.....how dare you expect anything more from him??
Anonymous, 21 Jul 2010It's because the media don't make a big deal on other phone's attenuation issues. And ot... moreApple isnt exposing a truth they are throwing a smoke screen to cover their A$$es ... The are just distracting their customers by trying to make them believe all the products from the other brands Nokia, Samsung, Moto, SE LG etc... Drop calls and loss Network connectivity by holding the product Naturally! But they did not prove this in any of theIr videos! They just should attenuation 101 lessens and expect their blind customers to forget that the PROBLEM IN THE FIRST PLACE WAS THAT THE IPHONE 4 DROPPED CALLS & OVERALL COMPLETE RECEPTION LOSS.
deep space bar, 21 Jul 2010it didn't completely loose reception like iphone has shown in one spot and the 5800,5230,5... moreYour phones are ok because the antenna's aren't easily accessible. If you grip the phone really tightly in the area where the internal antenna is, you might drop a bar, but this is a rarity. Which is why it's hard to find hundreds of videos of Nokia's, Samsung's, RIM's having this issue. Only 2 or 3 videos a piece of this happening.
hey apple please grow up and make a good iPhone (imaturePhone as I call it for now) I have been using a N97mini, never once did Nokia phone ever had a antenna reception problem even with weakest signal areas.
I suggest steve jobs should rather work on improving his product than pointing fingers at others to hide his own product's faults.
deep space bar, 21 Jul 2010it didn't completely loose reception like iphone has shown in one spot and the 5800,5230,5... moreI know, right? Even with the bars dropping on my ip4 (w/out a case), my calls didn't drop. So I don't know what all these fuss by the media is all about?
Dimi, 21 Jul 2010Point is that instead of finding a way to fix their problem Apple try to show us that everybod... moreIt's because they're trying to play off the issues of de-tuning. The truth is that all phones are susceptible to attenuation, but only phones with external antennas with un-coated antenna gaps will have reception loss issues.
as a iphone fan....after watching the video i finally realize there is something in the world that is better looking than the iphone....
and oopss its has even better spec than my iphone....i will surely buy this n97 mini....thanks to steve job for dedicating such a cool video and introduce me the n97mini....
bricked, 21 Jul 2010This is pure comedy, you can rate the standard of debate by what time kids finish school on th... more@ bricked:
the people whinging about the iPhone 4 reception were (drum roll).......... iPhone 4 users. Not all of them, but enough for Apple to delete the forum threads that only Apple product purchasers use.
Apple are the one dragging other mobile phone companies into the debate. to be honest... i'm boooored of Apple users whinging about their rubbish products and Apple whoring themselves in adverts on tv with all the money they've taken from people whining about the products they've bought.
Point is that instead of finding a way to fix their problem Apple try to show us that everybody has problems. This doesn't make any sense to me.
Dimi, 21 Jul 2010I don't see a signal lost, do you? And how many people complained about dropped calls with 97 ... moreThat's true. And Apple will be working to improve its new antenna design. They will figure out a way to remedy that attenuation issue, and when that happens, this external antenna design would truly be an innovation. And the iphone will be the only one to enjoy this design :)
Anonymous, 21 Jul 2010Here's a newer one then :)
it didn't completely loose reception like iphone has shown in one spot
and the 5800,5230,5235
all have the same antenna at the bottom
and i have tried the death grip and noting happened
so this is all a joke
[deleted post]Of course all phones have attenuation occurrences. The only ones debating this are those who are uninformed, as well as those who believe that antenna de-tuning isn't an issue.
deep space bar, 21 Jul 2010that's a different phone you fool N97mini and E71 are two different phones .....you fail ... moreDoes it have to be the n97 mini? Point is, all phones have weak spots, not just the ip4. Have a great day. I know I am. Especially after reading Apple's financial report :) How's nokia doing? Hahahahaha
Apple are jealous at nokia N97mini is better than iphone and because problem with antenna the costumers will look up to Nokia N97mini, and apple are eager to grab the money instead, that is the problem, that is wot is bothering apple this days, they are use to drink blood from iphone funboys, and they started running for better, and that's N97mini!
This is pure comedy, you can rate the standard of debate by what time kids finish school on this website XD
"i hate iphone, they suck, and I ignore their financial results, Waaaaahh"
I don't see a signal lost, do you? And how many people complained about dropped calls with 97 mini? What's the point of all of this? Yes Apple, you have a problem with your new device, you admitted it and now it's time to start working on solving this problem instead of trying to convince us that "everybody has it". The ball is in your court, time to play!
PS: That's what I call wrong type of communication - this will lead to nothing good about Apple.
Anonymous, 21 Jul 2010How about asking customers if they're happy with their iphones? Would that help? Lol.
Whe... moreAre you really downplaying such an issue like this?
It doesn't really matter if this was an iPhone 5 or a Nokia N1000, if it has both these issues of attenuation and signal de-tuning, they need to get the problem fixed, instead of coasting on "of 100 people with the device, only 48 aren't happy with the device, so since they're in the minority, we shouldn't care."
