Instead of dragging dif'rent handcets from dif'rent bands, Jobs should have demoed all three earlier iPhones to prove his stand.
These should all be settled in court. Right....Nokia?
that was 3.5G yet the phone did not loose all the signal. had it lost it, it would have switched to gsm which is a lot stronger!!!
goes to show nokia is really good.
apple is beginning to annoy now
What is wrong with Apple....Y r they trying to prove someother brands wrong instead of trying to fix their issue...Does it means if other phones have issue, its ok for them to live in market with the same issue...Comon growup apple....Try to fix your issue before pointing on others.....I feel like a kindergarden kid complaining about his co-kid to teacher... :-)
I admire Americans and the way they do business but the problem comes in that they do not consider competition in all they do. The Hummer was tried in other countries, people stayed away because of the fuel consumption. Same goes for other models of cars as well. In comes iphone, was made a good brand & brought brand loyalty with it. Now is the time when competition is catching up but who cares at Apple. Samsung have shown in Galaxy i9000 they have arrived, matching iphone but for them development is non-stop, they will bring more handsets before Apple think iphone 5. Now thats where the problem start. Mr Jos its not that when you are up people pull you down, in your case, you are pulling yourself down. This antennagate is a harbinger of things to come, like GM the warning signs are there but do you care to see. The same problems that dog GM can potentially harm Apple, its time you check competition and keep up, you were first, now samsung is at par, Nokia is restructuring. The next release might be a damp squib, you would parade what the world has seen in Samsung, SE, HTC. The same Americans who hype iphone will drop it like its hot. Ask GM motors.
Stef, 21 Jul 2010It's not that bad, its just a Marketing war out there. On the other hand, Mobile distributors ... moreYea, not that bad.
Initially i was thinking of getting an Ipod soon.
Now i will think twice.
Problem not in the product (in ipod case).
But because of the immature act by Apple.
What exactly is apple hoping to prove?! The whole deal with the iPhone 4 is that the customers themselves have reported the problem, NOT other companies. If other phones dropped calls due to a style of grip this would have been reported long ago.
And even worse, this video actually proves nothing seeing as Apple could have tampered with that n97 if they wanted. I'm not saying they have, but if this problem has been unheard of to Nokia before today then Apple have just paved the way for a lawsuit. Whatever happens, I hope Apple issue apologies to all the companies they've slandered (although lets face it - that won't happen).
Reality Distortion Field
It means exactly what it sounds like
it means. When Steve says or does
something, the very nature of reality
Steve says that Safari is the best web
browser out there? It is.
Steve says that the iPhone gives you
the "true internet"? It does.
Steve suggests that you need a
bigger brighter screen to watch
video on your Nano? You do.
Steve informs you that the ability to
create ringtones from music you
already own for an additional $.99 is
a good deal? It is. The only solution to this problem is to let gsmarena make a simple article about antennagate issue and show us unbiased tests on all brands and how network will drop when held/gripped and show us which one is more likely to affect the normal user.
Anonymous, 21 Jul 2010how many millions bought iphone 1-4?how many nokia phone had been sold?1 billion right? All nokia phones combined can't even get half of one single freakin phone of Apple. The iPhone alone makes billions while all nokia phones combined can't even reach iPhone profit even if they take their asses off. Nokia can't even make a single high-end phone beating iPhone's sales. lol. You can shove your market share down your *ss but iPhone still is the most successful phone. Sorry kid. And FYI the number of people who complained din't even reach 1%. And you don't even have an iPhone. Probably couldn't have one, huh? That's kinda sad.
You know what, Jobs should get a "Reality Distortion Field" check! He should act professionally and be responsible for a faulty product! Stop blaming everyone else! Proving that a few other products in the market almost have the same design flaw, won't make reception in the iphone4 any better!
It's not that bad, its just a Marketing war out there. On the other hand, Mobile distributors are pushing vendors for price cutting, so the war get even bigger.
Lol Steve Jobs should stops. This is so embarassing for his bald head :)
this is Apple problem , they should face it, why drag others in. people are complaining iphone 4 reception. not nokia not samsung not others.
steve jobs ur a loser! admit now that your iphone4 is dead! desperate steve jobs!!!! do not compare ur iphone4 to other manufacturer, what kind of president are you???!! unprofessional!!!
ALonZo, 21 Jul 2010Its laughable that the reception on the iPhone 4 is the most highlighted and lengthiest debate... morehow many millions bought iphone 1-4?how many nokia phone had been sold?1 billion right?
Remember that Steve Jobs is nothing more than a salesman, he's not a programmer nor an engineer. The real technical brains behind Apple was co-founder Steve Wozniak, who doesn't work for Apple now yet still gets a fat paycheck from them. This explains the arrogance, defensiveness, and overhype from Steve Jobs. He's selling a dream lifestyle idea, not an electronics gadget. This is how the phrase "Reality Distortion Field" was coined, and it is forever attributed to Apple and its products. So everytime a non-technical gadget-collecting fanb0i buys an overpriced, overhyped but under-spec'ed product, that's a victory for the marketing department of Apple, aided in no small way by the US mass media which, quite expectedly, is "jingoistic" and insular when it comes to defending their own homegrown companies and products.
Steve an Apple have gone really Sour, trying to pull other makers phones down, this will really get Nokia very angry an i bet more court action against Apple,Just admit it Apple you have Designed the iPhone4 wrong an never tested the Antenna, before you design an produce the handset you Test it out,Apple Rushed the iPhone4 out too Quickly as i bet Steve wanted some more money for Clothes as he talks an looks like a Tramp an wish he would Grow Up an just Admit its is own fault the iPhone4 loses signals
It saddens me how childsh apple is becoming.. Can we trust apple's accusations? Are their testing an independent non-bias testing? I want to give apple benefit of the doubt, but at first they blame the customers than now other cell companies it just seems immature. Great that apple admit they made a mistake, but it is foolish to drag others into their problem...And to keep it going. I am losing respect for apple and I like apple products...
