Good step for target customer specially who cannot afford expensive smartphone but desire good specification from a reputed brand company i.e. Samsung, htc, huawei, sony, micromax,
xiaomi.
Asian market grabbing will be easier for C-series smartphone than previous.

mir, 19 May 2016So what's the point of another series when you already have the Note, S, A and J occupying all... moreInternally the same specs but each series use different material for its built and body. Glass, metal, plastic, ips, lcd, super amoled, with or without fingerprint sensor & so much more key differentiator. Thats what the whole series is for. To differentiate the hardware.

yee, 19 May 2016i would not say that this phone is redundant but agree with you on the range as they missing j... moreHight of childish irrelevance, people buy things with the letter "i" preceeding it, thats patronising ,pathetic, childish, mentally insulting, but, people look past the name, and the inferring ,mental condition the name implies, and use their phones. Mi phone i phone hi phone..pathetic, just leave samsung alone, this is just a successfull phone maker selling its phones the way it sees best. This comment is general, its not aimed at the person behind the comment I have replied to.

mir, 19 May 2016So what's the point of another series when you already have the Note, S, A and J occupying all... moreMaybe only Note, S, and A series will receive monthly security updates and also upgraded to the next android version. The other series are just 'money machines' to increase samsung's sales. I mean, samsung sell them then let them aged without any updates.

.alpha, 19 May 2016I don't know any Samsung phones beside the S, S Edge and Note. The rest are so similar and crappy.No. My galaxy a5 (2016) is very good. It is very fast and the screen animation is very smooth (but not as smooth as ios). I'm not a game maniac, so it is a perfect device for me.

mir, 19 May 2016So what's the point of another series when you already have the Note, S, A and J occupying all... morePfft. Samsung has the money to throw everything to the wall, multiple times.
It's similar to Nokia of the old if you think about it. Nokia pretty much made so many models of their dumbphone, trying to cater to every possible consumer.

So what's the point of another series when you already have the Note, S, A and J occupying all the possible price brackets? Samsung need to learn how to simplify their product range. Too much wasted resources on redundant phones.
