Anonymous, 18 Sep 2016Since the update ive been having issues sending and receiving messages. Same with picture mess... moreThis is the only issue I've been having. I'll get texts HOURS after they were sent to me, or get a notification "cant receive mms".
Update has done the same for me. Hot, losing battery alarmingly fast, text buggy and laggy, shows texts eternally in transit ( but actually sent ).
Gee thanks att....way to make my s4 look far more appealing
Was having same issues. Read the posts here, tried rebooting into safe mode and that seems to fix the issue.
The update never completed for some reason until i went into safe mode. Now my battery is charging again like normal, and it feels like its cooling down, getting texts like normal again.
S7 battery draining and very hot. I uninstalled oculus and it fixed it immediately. Thank you!!
AnonD-591232, 29 Sep 2016I have been having the same problem with my s7. Since the update, my phone dies after a few ho... moreHaving same exact issue. Worst update ever
I have 4 S7 Edges in my house. Whole family upgraded 3 mo the ago. Since the update ALL of us are noticing a HUGE decrease in battery, around 1/3 of what we used to get.
I don't know guys, but my S7 edge working fine since I upgraded it yesterday September 29, 2016. I observed the heating problem is now gone after the update and the battery seems good, I think. I have 80% battery after the update started 6 pm, and I do some normal things on my s7 edge like using flashlight, taking photos a video, opening some apps and games, editing photos. And my battery as of now 8:35 am it is 57%. It's only my observation after updated it. I have the exynos version of the S7 edge.
I haven't have problem with my S7 edge since I have it. I also installed "Package Disabler" to disable some bloatware that I'm not using. I hope this help guys.
Phone lags, Heats up to hell, messages wont send and are having trouble coming in....this update is really messed up.
Same problem, phone was dying while on wireless charging pad. Noticed apps are getting stuck in update loops in Google Play (doesn't matter what app it is).
Uninstalling the Oculus apps, all of them, fixes the overheating issue. After uninstalling them my heat gradually dropped until it was back at the normal temperature.
I just went into oculus and was prompted to do a update. I agreed and let it do its thing. Minutes after the update completed my phone cooled off and battery is holding a charge like it should. Also noticed a HUGE improvement on operating speed and lag.
Very happy camper...
Having the same problem...battery drained itself within 5 hours without me even using my phone and it was getting very hot. I hope this doesn't permanently damage the battery!
Too bad they don't provide a way to roll back the update for situations like this.
I woke up this morning at 9am and my s7 edge was at 100% and very warm almost hot. By 12 my phone was down to 14% stayed warm all the time. What I found was an article on redit
https://www.reddit.com/r/GearVR/comments/5520vg/oculus_update_this_morning_caused_my_phones_cpu/ so I opened up oculus app did the update and now after 15 min my phone has gone to normal temp and is running alot better. So for anyone with Oculus I hope this helps you. My other co workers were like my phone got the update and is fine the only 2 in the office with this issue both had oculus. Hope this helps someone.
Uninstall the Oculus and Oculus Rooms software. Oculus has issued a hotfix for the issue, but it'll take some time to update.
Oculus Rooms got stuck in an installation loop, slowing it down, making it hot, and draining the crap out of the battery.
Mine has cooled down, can hold a charge, and is snappy once again.
Paul, 29 Sep 2016Same issue with me after the Sep security update the battery is terrible. I chatted with Samsu... moreHow do you get into safe mode? I just uninstalled the app for occulus and my battery immediately cooled down but still dying very rapidly
I have the same issue. Only got really bad today and the battery is draining within about 3 hours, from 100% to dead.
No other issues seen.
Try uninstalling the Oculus Home app (through app manager)
AnonD-591142, 29 Sep 2016How much did it help with the battery issue? Is everything else still glitching? I cant give an exact number. But this "fix" made this problem (maybe) 50% less worse.
I have been having the same problem with my s7. Since the update, my phone dies after a few hours, even if I haven't been on it. It is taking FOREVER to charge and will not charge unless it is off, otherwise the battery still drains. I'm afraid that my phone is going to overheat and catch fire, because it is extremely hot. This update is awful.
I have the same problem. The phone is warm and the battery drains out completely in 3 hours or so.
